Just for You Sweetheart!

Hello friends! It's been awhile since I've posted. My attention has been on finishing up a quilt I had started waaaaaaay before Christmas, but wasn't done in time... so I was able to finally complete every last stitch and give it away! It was truly a labor of love ♥ Oh poop!!! I just remembered that I didn't take a photo - rats! I would have loved for you to see it. Well... my next two projects will be to finish my hubby's football quilt (shhhhh!) and then begin my son's dinosaur quilt (shhhhhh! again lol!). They don't know for SURE that I'm making these. I love surprises, don't you?

This week, my hubby is back to school to practice practice practice his driving to get his truck driver's license. He's been soooo incredibly patient through all of this. It seems that nothing has been easy from Day One! I am comforted by the fact that he is telling God that he wants whatever HE wants... not an easy thing.

I've also just found out that ANOTHER friend has had a mastectomy. For cryin' out loud, when is this nightmare gonna end? My 6 month check up will be on Monday. It's always a nerve wracking experience, but I am confident that my health is in God's hands :) This April will be FOUR years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer. God has brought me a very long way since then! I am so thankful for His tender care and how He has strengthened me. It has literally taken almost 4 years to feel strong emotionally again... If you think of it, say a little prayer for me for Monday's check up - thanks!!!

OK... I think I got a few of my stored up words out ha ha ha! Thanks for hanging in there with me :)

Today's card is for Fairy Fun Fridays! Isn't that a great name? I just LOVE fun!!! AND... we welcome the NEW Princesses to the team:

We also welcome MADDIE who is our Jr. Designer, and DEBS who has been given her honorary wings! Congratulations to everyone!!!

This is Valentine Gilly by Prairie Fairy Designs! She's all set to send her love to someone special ♥ The set (not shown) includes three image files JPG, PNG as well as full resolution colored PNG... She's colored with copics and accented with Glamour Dust. I LOVE covering white areas with Glamour Dust!

Of course her glasses needed some Diamond Glaze along with the heart :)

I fashioned a bow using 1/8" ribbon with tulle behind and a pink felt heart on top! I've also included a couple of my homemade scrolls which you can see behind the tulle. These are now gone, so it's time to create more! If you'd like to see my tutorial on how to create your own scrolls, you can find that Here. Happy Birthday to You

Hello my friends and Happy Saturday! Yay it's the weekend :) I've got a ton of things I need to get done even though it's the weekend... I can cross one thing off my list (yay) but it's because a dear friend isn't feeling well (boo) :( Sometimes it feels good to just lounge around in jammies for a day. Yep. That's my plan lol! Well, not actually lounging, but staying in jammies is a must!

I almost forgot to post my card for Fairy Fun Fridays! I had this done ahead of time (yay) but now I'm posting late (boo)... Seems to be the theme of the day (yay/boo). I think that it's better than (boo/boo) lol!

So this is Gilly's Gift which is part of the Holiday Gilly set by Roberta at Prairie Fairy Designs. The challenge this time at Fairy Fun Fridays is... Birthdays! Come play along with us and check out the fabulous work from the rest of the DT Here.

Challenges Entered:
Totally Papercrafts-Happy Birthday
Simply Create - Punches
Stamp Something - Anything Goes
Sisterhood of Crafters - Birthday
Fairy Tale - Flowers

Gilly's colored with copics; diamond glaze for the lenses of her spectacles; Glitter Liner accents on her dress, socks, headband and gift wrap.

A close up of the cupcake I cut out from the digi set by Nitwit. Stickles and Diamond Glaze cover the yummy icing on this sweet cupcake. For the cherry on top, I used Strawberry Ultra Fine Flower Soft. Unless stated, all products used on this card can be found at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design.

Hoping to see you at Fairy Fun Fridays! Don't forget to check out the cute digi's at Prairie Fairy Designs too :)

Have a fabulous weekend!

A Trio of Butterflies

Hello my friends! I'm sorry to do such a quick post this evening... dinner is almost ready (I've made a new recipe which I'm hoping will be yummy!) then I'm off to prayer group at church. I NEED the extra prayers this week as I'm delivering the message on Sunday. This will be the second time preaching : ) I'm still amazed that God would use me in this way!!! Who would've thought such a thing??? lol!

This is an ornament I made for my sister this past Christmas. Her Christmas tree was decorated in silver, purple, pink and blue, so those are the colors I used. Sorry for the poor photo... believe it or not, this is the best of all the pictures I took!

The image is a beautiful butterfly from Carmen Medlin's Reflections Set #1 for SCACD. This stamp is a bonus and is only available when purchasing the set. You can find it Here.

To achieve this look, I first stamped the image three times and embossed in silver. I used copic markers for coloring and covered them with Diamond Glaze and Glamour Dust (NOW 15% OFF!). I let it sit overnight... I decided that the rest of the ornament was too plain, so I gave the entire ornament a thick coat of Diamond Glaze and more lovely Glamour Dust. It is very very sparkly :)

That's it from me today : ) Thank you for taking a peek!

Look Out Below!

Happy Wednesday friends! Half the week is over already... I don't know about you, but I'm feeling like a total sluuuuuug these days. You don't think it could be all the pie and candy I've been eating do you? lol! It is definitely time to get serious. I'm just hoping that the weight I lost during the first 12 weeks of First Place 4 Health hasn't ALL come back - WAHHHHHHHHH!
Why is it so EASY to put weight on, but so DIFFICULT to get rid of??? The next 12 weeks of First Place 4 Health begins on January 19. I'm looking forward to getting back on track...getting to bed earlier...feeling better because I'm eating properly... you know, all the things that are good for us, but are so hard to do? lol!

My card today was so much fun to create. I love all of Elisabeth Bell's images and this one's right up there in my 'love' category : ) She's called, 'Look Out Below,' an exclusive stamp only at SCACD! Isn't she a beauty?

I've had this snowflake die cut for awhile, and I was so excited to be able to use it! Yes, I am easily amused lol! I also got to use my fave Viva Decor Opal Paper Pen - yippeeeeee!

The sparkly snowflake ribbon with the metal snowflake in the center are both compliments of Jo-Ann's (no, not free... I had to give them every penny hee hee)

She's colored with copics: Hair - E49 E59 E25 E53; Purples - BV04 BV02 BV01 BV00; Greens - G28 G21 G12 G00; Sled - E57 E55 E53 E51.

Stardust Stickles everywhere and a touch of Flower Soft in Lilac on her hat create lots of visual interest :) I don't think you can see it, but the sled also got a nice thick, shiny coat of Diamond Glaze. We don't want her to get any slivers do we? Especially not as she sits! ha ha

Flower Cheer and Mystery Product Revealed!

Is Winter over yet? I am chilled to the bone! I think I need to make a cup of hot cocoa and surround myself with a nice warm blankie :) Where's my little puppy dog? He's the best heater in town!

Here's another card I made last month, but didn't have the chance to post until now! Was your December as crazy as mine? As much as I enjoy shopping, I am sooooo glad that Christmas is over lol! How bout you?

This is Flower Cheer by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Winter Sampler. I think she's so pretty!!! For some reason, I decided that I needed to make an A2 size card - must have been the scraps I was using lol!

In this close up, you can see the TonerTex glitter I applied with the adhesive pen. This is a great way to apply glitter! No mess like you have with other techniques. Suzanne and Marti both have videos at Susana's store showing ways to use this product. You can see them Here and Here!

Ooooooh.... sparkly hee hee!

Although I don't own (yet) an Epiphany Crafts Button Tool, I used a clear button, cut matching dp and glued it on the bottom. Not as easy or convenient, but it'll have to do for now :)

Update!!!
*** If you read my post on New Beginnings, I talked about a NEW MYSTERY PRODUCT! It's time for the unveiling!!! This card may look like it has a bit of the new product on it, but it's waaaaaay different. I'm telling ya, I NEED one in absolutely EVERY color - no joke!! You may see the NEW PRODUCT Here.

Happy crafting!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

First Snowball of Winter

Today begins a new week at work for many - and oh so difficult after the Christmas/New Year break! However, I am not one of them... at least I do not have an office or a particular 'job' to go to. One of my jobs is housework like cooking and cleaning - ugh! Another of my jobs is the ministry work in and out of church; and still another is to exercise and then hang out at Starbucks. Well, somebody's got to do it lol!!! Back to the old grindstone hee hee...

This is a card I made about a month ago I think, but I never got around to posting. I've used First Snowball of Winter by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Winter Sampler. Susana has had too much free time, so give her a visit sooooon (JUST KIDDING!!!). Susana always works double time and gives us all the best service : ) But do pop on over and check out the NEW PRODUCTS she has in the store!!! Just wait... your eyes are gonna pop out like mine did!

I've used Viva Decor Glitter Liner to enhance the swirl die cut as well as a bit more bling on her hat and jeans. For snow on the ground, I glued Polar White Flower Soft (15% off!) up and under her shoes so it looks like she's 'in' the snow :)

For a soft furry trim, her jacket got the Sparkly fluff treatment as well as the pom pom on her hat! I think I over did her eyes a bit lol! I wanted them to be nice and shiny, but I made the hole on my Diamond Glaze bottle too big - sigh... she has the prettiest eyes though!

The silver ribbon lace and snowflakes came from Jo-Ann's...

Thanks for stopping by my little part of the world :) Please pray for my hubby this week. He is trying to obtain a license so he can drive truck. Things haven't gone smoothly... Please pray that God's will be done! I appreciate it more than you know!!!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

A New Year with CLP!

Second Post for today...
Scroll down for news on SCACD REOPENING!!!

Oh happy day! I am THRILLED to be able to use this most adorable image by Chelsea!!! She's a Gurlee Girl image called Lexi Praying. Isn't she the sweetest? I had so much fun coloring her and following Chelsea's awesome sketch! Have you played with us at CLP Sketch Challenge yet?

Here's the fabulous sketch to follow for the first month of 2011 :)

I've colored her with my fave copics - no surprises there lol! Pinks - RV34 RV32 RV11 RV10; Hair - E35 E4 YR21 YR20; Teddy Bear - E35 E34 E33 E31 E30; Teddy's Nose - E18 E17 E15. Teddy's tummy and foot, as well as Lexi's eyeshadow and bows got some sparkly detail using Stardust Stickles!

Papers are from Daisie Company and Bearly Mine Designs - all digi papers! I love them... and I love pink - can you tell? hee hee

The pink pearls on the gorgeous pearl and rose 'lace' was created using my Viva Decor Rose Paper Pen. I haven't used it in awhile... oh how I've missed it lol! The other pearls were done with Opal Paper Pen - another fave :)

Here's a close-up of one of the beautiful butterflies from SCACD... As I write this post, I see that they are 25% off! Susana has other colors available as well - check em out!

A couple of challenges entered:
Stamp Something - Something with Glitter
Simon Says - Celebrate (Praying in the New Year!)

I hope you enjoyed my project today.

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Simple Paper Piecing

Happy Happy New Year!!! Did you have a wild party to ring in the New Year? How about a quiet one? I attended a party for one lol! No, I take that back - it was actually two (my puppy dog and I!). I am past the wild party stage and have enjoyed a few quiet gatherings in past years, but this year just felt good to be home. There's no place like home, there's no place like home : )

As I reflected on the past year, looking at all the cards and projects I've made, first of all I'm amazed at the quantity (for me) I produced. I also found a few that I haven't posted yet... Here's to a New Year of even more creations, and of course, better quality projects! I've enjoyed visiting many of you and have learned so much. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your talent with me!!!

So this is a little card I made for a young lady's baby shower. The image is Bundle of Love by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Winter Sampler. It's my first paper piecing yahooooooo! Don't look too close lol! Isn't she cute and cuddly?

This is a quick and easy 3 x 3 card... The only tricky part was deciding how to cut away her face from the paper piecing! I will do it differently next time... The soft furry trim on her hat is Sparkly Fluff which I attached using my Quickie Glue Pen. Even though the area I wanted fuzzy isn't small and detailed, the Quickie Glue Pen was really quick and easy so I opted for that. The ball at the end of her hat and the cute little star on her pram (is that what you call it???) was made sparkly with Viva Decor Glitter Liner. This Glitter Liner can get in the most detailed areas - that's one of the things I really like about it! I popped on a tiny bow and she's ready to go : )

SCACD Reopens!
