Princess Kitty

Happy Wednesday!  Only one more day until New Year's Eve...  Then BAM - it's 2010!!!  I think it's time to practice positive thinking, at least for those of us who are over let's say... 40ish - hee hee!  Ok, stay with me here.  Repeat after me, "I am not old."  Actually, that's stated in the negative, hmmmm.  Let's try again, "I am getting better and wiser with each passing year."  Yes, that's it!  The Bible says that even though our bodies are outwardly wasting away, our spirits are being renewed.  Oh, praise God!  "Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Sam. 16:7  May our hearts be pure before You, LORD : )

Now that I feel sooooo much better, I'd like to introduce you to Princess Kitty.  This oh so cute digi is from Karen's Doodles.  You can find PK as well as other adorable images Here.

I colored this specifically for the Copic Buzz Design Team Call on Paper Craft Planet since I didn't have anything with animals (a requirement).  Then I discovered that Creative Card Crew's theme is anything goes and is also holding a DT Call... and Charisma Cardz theme is anything but Christmas!  Well, we'll see what happens :D

Here are the deets on this card:
Copic markers (duh...)
Stardust and Silver Stickles for tiara, collar and tag
Pink Spica for "eyeshadow" and accents on collar
Diamond Glaze on eyes
Label 8 nesties
CB flower embossing folder
ribbon, flower from stash

This is a quick and easy card to put together.  Here's a better view of my fav sparkles!!!

I like how the Diamond Glaze really makes the eyes "pop."  I added a little Stardust Stickles for eyeshadow, then after it dried, I applied the pink spica pen.  I was amazed that the color showed up so well because it was gray before...

So there you have Miss P.K.  I don't have a real one, but if I did, I think she would look just like this, tiara and all - LOL!  As it is, I have a little prince.  Well, don't tell him that, he thinks he's a king!!!  Oh what we do for our little furbabies : )

Let's see... two more days until I can post my DT card for Fussy and Fancy Challenge.  I've been getting a little sneak peek at the other DTs cards.  You are in for a real treat!  Don't forget to check in on Friday, January 1.  It's gonna be a Fussy and Fancy New Year : D

See ya tomorrow, my friends!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Baking Betty Featured on SNR and Surprise Candy Added!

Candy Now Closed

Hello my friends!  How are you after all the busyness and excitement of the holidays?  I hope that you've been able to get some much needed rest - I know that I have - hee hee!  Probably too much (sigh...)  Today has been a very lazy day of blog hopping and watching football.  Yes, I did say football.  Some of you might be saying, "why?" and some of you might be thinking, "cool!"  Since my surgery for breast cancer two and half years ago, I actually learned to love football.  I know, crazy, huh?  I would be the wife who would stand in front of the TV because my DH would be so consumed with football and I wanted some attention!!!  At those times I felt invisible, but obviously, if I stood in front of the coveted game watching apparatus, I would be very very visible - lol!  Anyway, we are 49er fans in my household.  We are overjoyed that they actually WON today - yay!!!

The Lord has blessed me over and over again in tangible ways lately.  I have recently won two blog candies which I will share with you when they arrive, and one grand prize giveaway from Simon Says Stamp at Paper Craft Planet.  If you are not a part of this group, go check it out - lots of fun there!

Today I received an email notification that my "Baking Betty" card is one of the featured cards this week on SNR Universe .  I created this card for Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #32 which was a baking theme. I'm tellin ya - the more I give, the more that comes back to me!  Isn't that just like the Lord?  He tells us in His  Word to give freely. Well, that leads me to the next topic...

This little ol' blog has reached over 150 followers.  Now I am not one to go back on my word, so it's time to add some more scrumptious candy!  The only thing is... I'm not telling you what it is - hee hee!  If you are itchin to win what I've already posted here, then I'm sure you will be super happy with the new addition.

So here goes:

~ I would love it if you would become a follower - if you are already, then you're entered.
~ Please post this pic with a link back on your blog or sidebar and...
~ Please leave me a comment :D  I just love to hear from you!!!

If you don't have a blog, please spread the word among your stamping friends.  That's it - oh so easy...
I'm going to leave this "extra" candy open until Jan 15, 2010.

Thanks for playing!

I'll have a cute card for ya soon.  As DT member of the NEW Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge, I need to wait to post my card... You'll want to play along with us, so keep your eyes peeled - hee hee!

Until next time, my friends...
May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Midnight Madness Challenge

Dumb, dumb, dumb I say!!!  I suppose I didn't read ALL of the words on the Midnight Madness Challenge Blog.  I had printed out the sketch with Dec. 22 as the deadline... oops!  I think it was supposed to be in by Sunday.  Oh well - ha ha!  I'm posting this anyway :D

This is a digi I purchased called Baking Betty from Pink Cat Studio.  Since the challenge was a baking theme, I thought this would work nicely :D  What do you think?  Betty, surrounded by circles and scallops is inserted into the diagonal pocket.  A recipe can be found on the back of Betty for Apple Pie - yummy!!!

I used the Textile Cuttlebug Embossing Folder which I received from my lovely friend, Linda and the dp is called Eskimo Kisses by Basic Grey which I received from my lovely friend, Suzanne!  Oh, and the Martha Stewart Hydranga punch is also from Suzanne.  Have I been blessed or what?  Thank you so much girls!!!  I've used my nesties for the circles and scallop.  Betty is colored with copics and accented with stardust stickles.  A little more stickles around the inner circle as well as the dots around the scallop and the copic edged flowers.  Lace, ribbon and gems added and it's good to go!  Oh so easy...

...and a little better view of Betty and her sparkles!

...and a close up of how easy it is to add a bit of color with copics!

Can you believe that I haven't inked up my Magnolias yet?  I KNOW... Some of you must be shocked!  Well, I'm gonna get out my ink pad and get stampin.  I can't wait - lol!

Thank you so much for your love and support.  I really do mean that!  I'm sending BIG cyber hugs to you - MWAH!!!

Don't forget my blog candy :D  Only 9 more days until my DH picks out two winners - UNLESS 33 more followers arrive - hee hee!  It's lookin like I just might have to get out the BIG prize for 150 followers - yahoo!!!

See ya'll tomorrow!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

More Exciting News!

Hiya!  Do you feel the clock ticking?  The days flying by?  I honestly can't believe that Christmas is almost here! I think that I'm just choosing to ignore that there are only a few more days... It's coming whether or not I'm ready  - lol!

Oh.. ha ha - I almost forgot!  I was gonna tell you my exciting news!  You may have noticed on my sidebar that I have a new Design Team Badge.  Isn't it lovely?  Little ol' me has been invited to be a part of a fabulous team of talented ladies who call themselves Fussy and Fancy!  I am totally excited and blown away that I've been blessed in this way!  Thank You, God : D  Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge will begin January 1, 2010.  You can find more information here.

Well, if that's not reason enough to celebrate, I've still got 2 blog candy winners coming up next Thursday (Dec. 31).  If you haven't entered yet, why not do that now?  I will post the winners on Friday, Jan. 1.  You can find rules and information on the first posting here and the second posting here.
If 41 more people decide to follow this blog  before Dec. 31, I will add a BIG surprise to the candy!

Now... I actually have a card for you - yay!  I just have to add the finishing touches and I will post for ya.  I had so much fun making this card because I was able to use some candy that I received from two lovely ladies.  I will tell you all about it when we visit next time :D

Envelope Pippin

I am so frustrated with my laptop lately!!!  It is getting slooooooowerrrrrr and slooooooooowerrrr!  It's not even that old - well, I suppose over three years is old for our technological world.  So funny... NOT!  I'm hoping that my DH will decide that he's had enough and buy a new desktop - lol!  Oh wait, I must be dreaming 'cuz he won't be the one to get fed up enough to buy a large ticket item like a frivolous computer - yikes!  How in the world am I gonna talk him into it?  I'm serious, I'm sitting here wasting a lot of time waiting for the page to l..o..a..d.... still waiting.... ugh!  Are you having trouble with your computer too?

Ok.  That's enough ranting and raving for now :D  I'll be a big girl now - well, at least as long as I can post this before my laptop blows up - hee hee!

Today's card features Envelope Pippin from Digital Delights by Louby Lou.  I picked this up a while ago as a freebie through the Digital Delights Group on Paper Craft Planet.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday. Simon Says Challenge calls for Christmas theme.  Die Cut Dreams is Glitter Me Silly.  DP is from Costco a few years ago! Fiskars scalloped edge punch and circle/scallop nesties for cut outs.  Copics and spica glitter pens used on Pippin; Jones Tones Puff Paint for the fur on the hat :D I stickled the inside flap of the envelope as well as the dots on the scallops - also a little silver stickles on the red rose.  I inserted a pin with a few beads into the bow.  Here's a better view:

Today is the last Freebie Friday of the year over at Digital Delights by Louby Lou.  Wendy has a terrific Peekin Elf Tag ready for you to download here.

Thanks for sittin a spell with me : )   If you haven't already done so, don't forget to sign up for one of my two (so far) blog candy giveaways - ends December 31 at midnight.

Come back soon!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Shirley's2Girls DT Call

Shirley's2Girls are having a DT Call!  Check out the link below for more information...

Here's my card for this week's Twisted Thursday Challenge at Shirley's2Girls.  It also qualifies for Stampin Sisters in Christ and Die Cut Dreams  The image is a digi from Shirley's2Girls called Original Gracie. Isn't she cute?  She has just enough spunk and attitude :D

I colored her with my fav Copics and added Stickles on her dress and lips!  Her sunglasses also have shimmer from one of my Copic glitter pens.  I picked up the brown glitter paper at Beverly's as well as the sticker flowers and gems.  The dp is Blue Mini Dots by Colorbok and the card base is Kraft cs.  I also used Creamy Brown Chalk ink by Color Box around the edges.

Here's what I did with the inside and then decorated the outside of a Kraft envelope using the same dp and MS punch. Hmmm... I gotta find out what the punch is called.  I never keep the packaging - lol!

Oh it felt so good to create again!  I'm gonna surprise ya with another one tomorrow - hee hee!  Oh... and I'll also have another fab surprise for ya - I'm not tellin' but it has to do with over 50 followers so far :D
