A Gift For You!

Hello my friends... and Happy Thursday!  I've just returned from my First Place 4 Health meeting.  It was just three of us this week and we had so much fun!!!  Did you know that laughing is wonderful for your health?  I think I must have burned enough calories laughing to lose at least another pound lol!  Yesterday, I ate a TON of veggies.  I do enjoy them, but for lunch I had this humongous bowl of Waldorf Salad.  Sounds yummy, huh?  Well, this particular recipe started out fabulous.  One small apple, 1/2 cup celery, 2 oz. low-fat cheese and 2 teaspoons low-fat mayonnaise.  Mix that together and taste... yum!  Here's where I think I made a mistake.  Shred 2 cups red cabbage and add apple mixture.  So I get it all mixed up and sit down to eat. And eat... and eat... and eat!  It must have taken me half an hour to finish the bowl.  It did look like a lot, but there's next to nothing as far as calories.  So what's the problem you ask?  It wasn't until tonight that I realized that I had shredded green cabbage instead of the red.  It looked and tasted bland - I felt like I was a cow chewing it's cud!!!  Oh well...tonight I made green pepper steak over brown rice.  Now THAT was good!  Even my hubby loved it and that's saying a lot!

Today I have a labor of love project for ya.  I wrestled and moaned and groaned over what to make lol!  Suzanne's SCACD Challenge for us this week is to create a Fall Themed Gift.  What do ya think so far?
This is Little Rose from the Victoria Case for SCACD mini Little Acorns Collection.  She's one of my faves in this adorable stamp set!

Little Rose is colored with copics:  Hair - E34 YR24 Y21; Skin - E11 E21 E00; Leaves - G28 G24 G21 G20; Clothes - E35 E33 E31; Rose - YR02 YR01 YR00.  Of course I had to add some Stardust Stickles to the rose, the rim of her acorn hat and a touch on her shoes!  The gold pearls in each corner were made with my FAVE Viva Decor Gold Paper Pen.  Well, the gold isn't my fave... ALL the colors are my fave lol!

Did ya notice the cute little gold key tucked away in the corner?  It's a Maya Road chipboard piece that I covered with Viva Decor Inka-Gold.  It was super simple to do!  This is a fabulous 'must have' metal gloss paint which can be applied with a sponge to many different surfaces.  Honestly, I just scooped a bit out with my finger and rubbed it over the chipboard - it worked great!  It's sooooo shiny hee hee!

Here's the inside!  It is the perfect size to hold all of the Scripture Memory Cards for our 12 week Bible Study with First Place 4 Health!  I'm tellin ya...it couldn't have worked out better if I'd planned the whole thing lol!  I will be giving this to a special someone in my class...  I hope she doesn't check out my blog before I give it to her!!!

Even though this project is supposed to be for Fall, you could change up the papers and color Little Rose in Spring, Summer or Winter colors!  Gotta love the versatility : )  And... obviously, Scripture is for ALL seasons!

So happy that you've chosen to stop by today.  I love it soooooo much when you let me know that you've been here : )

Please remember... this month is BREAST CANCER awareness.  I am a survivor and know full well the importance of regular checkups!  Don't let fear keep you from having a mammogram.  It literally saved my life!

I love you all ♥

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Lori this is absolutely amazing hun! What a gorgeous little holder for such lovely scriptures! I think I may have to make my Mommy one of these for Christmas! :) Thanks for the wonderful inspiration! Big Hugs to you!!!! I didn't realize you were a cancer survivor either...CONGRATS to you hun for beating that nasty disease! My Mom-In-Law is a breast cancer survivor too...she's been in remission for 10 years now! And when she first went into remission they really only gave her 2 years to live! She is a walking miricle and proves that God does exist! Just like you are also proof! :)
Hugs~ Kim
