Candy Winner and Holiday Peekers!

Hip Hip Hooray!  It's Friday!!!  Can you tell that I'm not as cranky as I was when I wrote my last post?  Things haven't changed much, except for my ATTITUDE...  Sometimes I just need a kick in the butt to get me straightened out again! LOL

Not only is it Friday, but I also get to announce the NEW RELEASE by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD!  The darling Holiday Peekers are now available!!!  There are four of these cuties as well as three mini stamps created by our very own, oh-so-talented, Carolyn!!!  Thanks bunches, Sweetie.  You did an awesome job!  : )

You can find all the links to the Designers showcasing the NEW Holiday Peekers on the Store Blog.  Be sure to check it out!  For UK/Europe friends, Quixotic Paperie also carries these fabulous exclusive stamps!

Now... may I introduce you to Reason for the Season by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD...

Can you hear the angels singing?
Silent night, Holy night. All is calm, all is bright...  Such beautiful music : )

Copics used:  R27 R24 R22 R20; G28 G24 G21 G40; Hair - E49 E59 E25 E53; Skin - E11 E00 R20; E57 E55 E53 E51 E50; YR24 Y15 Y13; BG13 BG11 BG10.

The ornaments, sheep, Baby Jesus' blankie and the centers of the snowflakes on her top all received a nice glob of Stardust Stickles.

I chose this DP because it has snowflakes!
It's from the 6x6 Holly Jolly Christmas paper pad by Echo Park *Here*

I've included two homemade buttons  - the large white button threaded with Gold floss and the small gold button on the center of the snowflake.  The small button used to be Blue/Green Crystal Gel, but I painted it gold and then gave it a thick coat of Gold Glitz Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint.  I won't go through the steps on how I made them, but you can see the tutorial on making molds and embellishments using Crystal Gel / Modeling Creme *HERE*  I LOVE making my own embellishments : )

I also got to use my NEW Spellbinders dies : )
The Classic Large Circle is layered over the Picot Edge Circle

I've used only 1 of the 5 dies you get with the Create a Flake Three Shapeabilities set which I edged in NEW 'Diamond Range' Gold Ultra Fine Flower Soft.  The beautiful white flower also received a Gold Ultra Fine Flower Soft bath lol.  I thought it helped to tie it all in...

Challenges Entered:
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes!
Outlawz - Copic/Anything Goes!
Paper Sundaes - Anything Goes!

A Present for You!

Welcome back friends!  Before I whine a bit, I want to let you in on a secret...  There is candy hiding in today's post : )  Well, today is Wednesday, but it sure feels like a Monday!!!  Can I cry on your shoulder for just a little while?!?  I'm not even sure why LOL.  Some days are just like that, you know?  I've been working very hard on A LOT of things...  One of which is eating healthier and exercising more.  A very good thing which I am happy about is that so far I've lost 15 pounds - yay me!!!  Blood work done in a couple of months will reveal how things are looking on the inside.  If you are over the age of 40, you know the aches and pains life brings...everything seems more difficult when your body hurts and you get tired faster ... Oh thank God for crafting!  What would we do without it?

I have a confession to make.  Painting is done and floors were installed in my new craft room last week, BUT I haven't done anything to finish the detail work so I can begin to fill it up!  What in the world is wrong with me?  I've been moaning and groaning about having my craft supplies all over the house, and now that there is a perfectly good room (almost) ready, I am dragging my feet.  Want to know a secret?  I'm not sure what to do with it!!!  The desk I'm currently using is HUGE.  I mean BIG and HEAVY HUGE!!!  There is no way that I can get it into my craft room.  What do I use for desk space?  On a very limited budget, I need to come up with something... Any ideas?  I'd LOVE to know...  What do you use?  I'd also like to put my computer in there.  The room is about 12'x12' which is a pretty good size.  Help!?!?!

*End of whining..*  : )

OK...my title today is a tiny bit misleading, but it really does lead into a present for someone!  First, in 2 more days, I will reveal the WINNER of my Surprise Candy : )  If you missed it, you can find all the information *Here.*  I've enjoyed reading all of your comments about what you like to give/receive as Blog Candy.  You've given me some great ideas... and just maybe YOUR idea will be offered as candy!  Btw, I agree with each and every one of you hee hee.

So... for today, I am offering this lovely lady, Precious Present by Sylvia Zet for SCACD as a present!  If you'd like to have a chance at giving this beauty a home, just leave me a comment on THIS post by next Wednesday, October 5.  I'll announce the winner shortly after...

Sorry, I'm not at home (where I have the list) to let you know which copics I've used to color her... and boy is she FUN to color!!! DP is Webster Pages *Here.*  The metal embellishment in the corner was made by yours truly.  It's the last one I had, so I have to make more!  I began by making a mold of 4 stacked metal corners (because they are so thin).  I filled the mold with Crystal Gel (which happened to be Blue/Green) and let dry overnight.  After removing from the mold and trimming, I applied a generous coat of Silver Precious Metal Paint (LOVE this paint!!!).  Voila'!  It is very lightweight and easy to adhere to your card or project.  The best part about having molds is that I can make as many as I need and use any color to match my card.  Tutorial using Molds and Crystal Gel/Modeling Creme *Here.*

Isn't she a doll?
I've glittered her wings with Ice Crystal Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint.
So easy to use... just paint on!  No glue or messy glitter to get everywhere : )

Of course, I needed to sneak in some pearls using my Rose Paper Pen (THIS is my absolute fave paper pen of all time!!!)  Susana carries lots of different colors *Here.*

I've been asked to show my paper pens, but again, I'm not at home, so until I can get some up close and personal photos of what the paper pens look like and the different pearls they make, take a look at this Tutorial on Making Your Own Scrolls *Here.*  The paper pens are the same size (BIG!).

I hope that the good outweighed my little whining session today lol.  It's not fun to continually hear someone complaining is it?  I do try to allow Jesus to shine through in whatever I'm doing, but...since I'm human...EEK!!!  Not perfect, just saved : )  Praise be to God!!!

Thank you so much for joining in the fun today.  Don't forget to leave a comment if you'd like to be in the draw for Precious Present!  You can find the rest of this Oh-So-Adorable Release by Sylvia Zet for SCACD *Here.*

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul~

LOADS of Ribbon Winner Announced!!!

Happy Happy Monday to you!  Yes, another week has flown by... I can feel the gray hairs growing as I 'speak!'  Speaking of hair... I *think* I'm going to get my hair cut (again).  I'm used to having it cut short - OUT of my eyes and 'away from my sweaty neck short' lol.  Now to find just the right photo to show my hairstylist : )

This weekend, my hubby had TWO days off!  Yep, we didn't know what to do with ourselves on this rare occasion hee hee...  He sure needed the break!  But soon enough, he'll have so much time on his hands he'll be looking for work.  Do you need some work done around your house?  I'll be happy to send him over lol!

Believe it or not, I have a card!
Have you seen the ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE new images by Sylvia Zet for SCACD?  I mean, really REALLY adorable!!!  Below is one of my faves...  She's called Hope.  She's wearing Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Survivors and in remembrance of those who have ended their battle...  Please accept my heartfelt prayers of hope and healing if you are one of the courageous women currently fighting or have fought this horrible disease. Or maybe your life has been touched by another who has gone through the pain and suffering... You have also gone through pain and suffering, so my heart also goes out to YOU!  There IS hope... I promise!!!

Many of you know that I fought and WON the battle 4 1/2 years ago!  Only by the Grace of God, I tell ya  Jesus truly HEALS!!!  I am forever grateful to Him.  It was a long and ugly road, but I am here to tell you that there IS light at the end of the tunnel.  The darkness will NOT overtake you!  Call out to Jesus... you'll find that He is faithful and will always take care of you : )

'Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the Name that is above every Name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.'    Philippians 2:9-11

This little beauty, Hope, is colored with copics:  E18 E17 E15 E13 E11; E49 E59 E25 E53; RV25 RV23 RV21 RV10 RV00; G28 G21 G40; E50 E00 E25 E53.  The awesome Gold on the hope chest is Gold Glitz Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint.  The more coats you apply, the sparkly-er it gets!  LOVE my Glamour Dust Paints!!!  Susana has a TON of fab colors to choose from... just in case : )

I have defo fallen in LOVE with Hope!  Can one truly fall in love with an image?  I think so, but we are so fickle lol.  Another one comes our way and we are in LOVE with that one!  More Glamour Dust on her wings... this time it's Ice Crystal.   Did ya notice the pink and creme pearls peeking through?  Another absolute fave product I can not do without... I use it all the time - Susana, I hope that you will always carry these amazingly fun Viva Decor Paper Pens!!!  I know that some of you prefer the Pearl Pens, but for some reason, my Paper Pens seem to make the best pearls for me...

Pretty simple as far as design goes...  I wanted the dp (which is Webster Pages from a Triple Pack Collection) to shine through.  I've used my oval and scalloped oval nesties for layering the image paired with a sweet doily.  I don't think I'll ever get tired of doilies - don't you just love em?  I'm also on a Scroll Roll ha ha.  You know by now that it's a Memory Box Die called Elegant Scrollwork.  The beautiful flower resting on the scroll is a Prima flower, but I don't see it in the shop anymore :(

Well...I know that this has been a long post!  I hope that you've been a little bit entertained and a lot inspired : )  Thank you so much for your friendship - it really does mean so much to have you here!  I love you, sweet friends

See you soon with another beauty by Sylvia Zet for SCACD (and a shorter post!)

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul~

Make Your Own Flowers!

It's Saturday!  Yay!!!  Whatcha doing this weekend?  My plans are to get a few areas organized in my house.  This is gonna be a long term project, so I'm not gonna go crazy trying to get it all done!  If I've learned only ONE thing in my life, it's that I can't do it all.  No 'superwoman' - never was...never will be lol!  I am enjoying learning how to have balance in every area.  Note that I said learning... yep, it seems that everything is a process!  So I plan to do a little bit of cleaning/organizing, a little bit of crafting (duh!), a little bit of blogging, a little bit of shopping and cooking and a little bit of relaxing!  Then comes Sunday :D  That's another story for another time.

Have you seen Di's Digi Designs Challenge Blog?  The first challenge was on September 10 with the theme 'Anything Goes.'  New challenges are posted every two weeks, so TODAY we have a new theme, 'Make Your Own Flowers!'  Here's what I came up with...

This is the ADORABLE digi Sweet Scent.  I fell in LOVE with her when I saw her!  Here's the copics I've used:  R85 R83 R81; YG63 YG03 YG01; G28 G24 G21 G20; C9 C7 C5 C3 C0; YR24 Y15 Y13 Y11.

The image is die cut using the second largest circle in the Classic Large Circles nesties set which is layered on black cs using the largest size die in the Tear Drop Circle set.  I love the lacy look it gives!

I just wanted to show you a different angle so you could see the bling better which was achieved by painting on a couple of coats of Ice Crystal Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint.  I am really loving this product because I changed printers - and you know what sometimes happens... the ink started bleeding (oh noooo!).  I had to be super careful as I colored.  From past experience, I know that stickles REALLY makes the ink run.  Your beautifully colored image turns into black MUD!  But.... yay...there is NO - NONE - bleeding with the Glamour Dust Paint and it gives a TON of sparkle (just not the dimension).

Here's my 'make your own flower' flower!  I don't think it turned out that bad, BUT there are definite things I would do differently.  First, I wish that I would have used different paper and maybe used the Ice Crystal Glamour Dust Glitter Paint instead of the Silver Bling.  Well, it was a good learning experience.  I wasn't sure that I would be able to do this, so... yay me lol!

Did ya notice that awesome scroll I tucked in behind the flower?  I'll say it again... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this scroll!  It's a Memory Box Die called Elegant Scrollwork.  Susana just might have one or two left, but it's hard to keep this beauty in stock!  Also the yummy pink (and black) pearls I made using my Viva Decor Paper Pens - Graphite *Here* - Rose *Here*

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope that you will join us for this two week challenge in Making Your Own Flowers at Di's Digi Designs Challenge.

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul~

New Winner...Surprise!!!

Edited:  I haven't heard from the winner of my LOADS OF RIBBON and More Blog Candy... so that means it's NEW WINNER time!!!  See below***

Hello friends!  Welcome back : )  Guess what?  I have a floor in my new craft room!  It is coming together slow, but sure... I forgot to take before pictures (darn!).  I have no idea what it will look like totally complete since it will be a work in progress (hopefully not too many months).  I'm just so excited to have a place just for meeeeeee lol.

My work space right now is my desk - which is a total disaster!  I'm sure you can relate as we all pull things out to use (or not) and then putting them back seems to take forever...  I have a few images I'm coloring and am so excited to show you soon!  So far *gasp* I've only shown one Sylvia Zet image (Princess).  Today's card uses 3 Wishes by Sylvia Zet for SCACD.  I've given her curly hair hee hee.

Such a look of wonder and amazement!!!  Isn't she adorable?  Did ya notice the stitching?  I used my NEW Sew Easy attachment (Zig Zag) and beautiful blue floss!  This time I only used three strands of the floss instead of the full 6.  I think I like it better this way because it's not so bulky - I'm used to using 3 strands for cross stitch {sew} it was a natural crossover! lol

I've used the following copics to color up this cutie:  B97 B95 B93 B91; E57 E55 E53 E51 E50; E35 E34 YR21 YR20; YR24 Y15 Y11 Y00 Y000.  For even more pizazz on the stars, I've painted Gold Glitz Ultra Fine Glamour Dust Paint on top.  For added dimension on the box as well as the flower centers in her hair and around the nesties scallops, I've used my Ice White Viva Decor Pearl Pen. Susana carries the square nesties, but the link for the square scallops is different than I've used - it will still work!

The dp is a combination of A Beautiful Life by My Minds Eye and Julianne by K & Company.  Don't you LOVE the awesome scrolls?  I've used a Memory Box Die called Elegant Scrollwork.  I have never been so in love with scrolls before lol!  I'm totally serious though : )  I've given them a splash of Gold Glitz Glamour Dust Paint so the cs shows through, but with extra ummppphh!  The gold edged blue flower is Sugar Blooms - Reflections and the carnations are Wild Orchid - all given a smidge more Gold Glitz Glamour Dust Paint.
