Happy Birthday to Me!

Good morning, my crafty friends!  I told a little lie... it's not really my birthday - yet - not until Friday!  I think I'll start celebrating now though : )  Today, my mom is taking me shopping!!!  Is there anything more FUN than shopping for craft items?  Well, maybe actually using them, but I know that you are much like me and LOVE to see, smell, touch all things crafty lol!

To celebrate my birthday, I will have another candy up for grabs beginning Friday, August 6.  If you haven't entered my current candy, you may enter Here.  Ends today!

Don'tcha love this lil' cutie?  It's Cupcake Mouse by Melissa Jenkins.  I thought it was perfect for our current challenge at Paper Romance Challenge Blog which is to make a birthday or celebration card.

The copics I used to color Cupcake Mouse are:  E57 E53 E51 E50; E18 E17 E15 E13; RV32 RV11 RV10 RV00 RV000.  The frosting got a nice coat of Diamond Glaze and when it dried, I applied a few sprinkles with Rose Paper Pen.  I LOVE this stuff!!!  I don't have to buy pearls anymore : )

Quick and simple inside...  Sentiment is Stampin' Up!  DP is DCWV Sweet Matstack.

Happy Birthday to me... lol!

'Better Than Ever' Blog Hop!

Hello friends.  I hope you are having a blast hopping with the SCACD and Quixotic Paperie DT girls!  If you've come from Kim's blog, you are on the right path.  To start at the beginning, you'll want to go see Elaine.

Today the new Victoria Case for SCACD "Aurora 2" is back...Better Than Ever!!!  I'd like you to meet, Sprite.  She's Aurora's lil' sister - and oh so cute!!!

Sprite is only available when purchasing the whole sheet of stamps Here.  Not only is buying the whole sheet a money saver, but you also get the "bonus" stamp, Sprite!  She's pint size, so I've created a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" gate-fold card.

Here she is in all her sparkliness!  I had a 'duh...' moment when adding the Viva Decor Glitter Liner on her dress and shoes which are obviously colored.  I thought that the color wouldn't show through much if I added the Glitter Liner over it.  I was totally wrong!  It seems that I keep learning something new with this fabulous product... to my delight and surprise : )  Now I'll be using so much glitter that I'll have to put a bling warning on my projects so you don't go blind lol!!!

DP is KAISERCRAFT - Tea at Elsie's Collection.  Prima Mini Roses and E Line Daisies.  Sentiment is Fiskars - Cameo Ovations.  I used my Pearl Pen in Ice White for the pearls around the scalloped oval and in the bottom corner.  Copics used:  YR24 thru 20; E25 E31 E50; G24 G21 G20; R27 R24 R22.  Susana carries convenient copic bundles Here and the can't do without Memento Ink Here.

Your next stop is the super creative and talented Kim!

In case you get lost, here is the Hop List:

It's a Candle!

Morning friends!  I've been gone on a mini get away.  Yes, it really was mini... all 3 miles away lol!  Actually, I don't even know how far - technically, I could walk there if I was so inclined.  I was not...ha ha!!!  Anyway, a girl has to take certain items with her even if it's just overnight!  There is no way that I could drag all that with me unless I drove.  You know the essentials (at least for me).  My pillow, something crafty to work on if I have time, my Bible, a book...  then there's the other essentials like deodorant, toothbrush, etc...  Really, who goes away without bringing at least a few bags?  Case closed.

So even though I'm back, I'm still catching up!  The first thing I wanted to do when I got home was to turn on my computer to see my friends : )  I resisted though 'cuz the plants and bushes in my backyard were screaming at me!!!  They have been sooooo neglected.  It has been a very very long time since I've pruned and/or deadheaded.  My DH has been doing a fabulous job with the yards (which is his least fave thing to do) so guilt won and I marched my behind outside and worked for 2 1/2 hours.  I do love the sense of accomplishment that brings : )  I am just plain tuckered out now!  Whew!!!

Before I left, I was able to create a few projects, so now I get to share one with ya!  This week's Try It Out *T* is to use an animal stamp only.  I've used the adorable image from Victoria Case for SCACD, Hearts and Hugs Summer Collection, Teddi and Friend.

I stamped the image on tissue paper with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with copics.  I've never colored on tissue paper before!  I did a little shading, but the colors are A LOT lighter than coloring on paper.  I cut around the image and used my heat tool to melt the candle just a bit so the tissue paper sticks.  I got to play with lots of Viva Decor!  Can you tell that this is my most FAVE product to use?  I was going for the 'mother of pearl' type look with the Transparent Gloss Gel.  I made the pearls and then sprinkled Glamour Dust on top.

You can see the Glamour Dust pearls a little better in this photo...  I've also given Teddi a Glamour Dust tummy and paw!  Flowers are accented with Light Blue Pearl Pen and Rose Paper Pen.  Using a MS punch and a scrap of paper from my stash, I glued and embellished the bottom border around the candle.

This was so easy... I've been wanting to do this forever!  Now I have to find some inexpensive candles and make some more : )

Flower Power!

Hi friends!  I'm sneaking in a quick post...  I've just returned from a mini get away and I wanted to share with you my Flower Power card!  She's from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition 5.  Such a cutie-pie!!!

The fabulous papers are from BasicGrey OliviaFlower Power is colored with copics, cut out and popped up with pop dots.  I've also added Raspberry Fizz Flower Soft to the flowers in her hand and on top of her head.  I love the way this looks.  Just enough to accent without being too heavy!

Those yummy pearls are Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Cream.  I'm about to share with you another first for me lol!  I mixed the pearl pen with Dreamweaver Mica Power in Pixie Dust to color the butterfly!  I see that it could have used another coat... but, oh well - that's how we learn!

Her belt and the flowers on her pants, as well as the edges of the butterfly, ribbon and mini roses got a huge helping of Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff : )  The more I use it, the more I fall in love *sigh*

Stay tuned... Try It Out *T* is coming up shortly!!!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Glory to God in the Highest

Hello there!  So glad that you've found your way to see me today!!!  I want to make sure that you know how much I appreciate you!  My life is so much richer because you are in it : )  Sometimes it's good to reflect on our lives and as they say, 'Stop and smell the roses.'  So many times I can be on automatic pilot and not even realize what I'm doing!

This is my last DT card for Karen's Doodles (sniff sniff...)  It has been so much fun!  I really enjoy Karen's fabulous artwork : )  Thank you so much Karen and Sandy for allowing me the privilege of designing for you!

All white... well, almost.  Just a touch of silver lining and Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  Do you want to join in the challenge this week at Karen's Doodles?  The image can be multi-colored, but everything else should be white.  I thought this image was perfect for this challenge.
It's called Cross with DoveThe dove is 'colored' with Viva Decor Pearl Pen and the cross with Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  The pearls are Pearl Pen in Ice White.

I used Labels 4 Nesties to cut out the image and used pop dots to raise it above the first die cut.  The top and bottom borders are Cuttlebug die cuts (not sure the name).

Look at that  S P A R K L E ! ! !

The Viva Decor Glitter Liner has THE most sparkle and the best part for digi users... it doesn't make the printer ink bleed - yay!!!

Challenge Entered:
Stampin' Sisters In Christ - Candle, Let Your Light Shine!

I hope you enjoyed my project : )

Viva Decor Blog Hop!!!

Good morning friends!  A very happy Friday to ya!!!  Get ready for a long post... Are you on the Blog Hop trail today?  If so, you should have come here from Rowena's blog.  If you'd like to start at the beginning, then head on over to Quixotic Paperie Store Blog.  Let's get started!

Here's another of my fave stamps by Victoria Case for SCACD - Hearts and Hugs Summer Collection.  This image is called Safe Travels.  Isn't she the ca-uuuuutest evah?  I've colored her with copics, cut her out and popped her up on top of Memory Box and homemade dp!  I am seriously in LOVE with the  technique I used!!!  You'll be seeing lots of it in the future!  Crafters' Workshop has a ton of different templates, but I chose to use the Butterflies template and Rose Paper Pen(For those of you overseas, all Viva products I've used in my project (except the Paper Pen) can be purchased at Quixotic Paperie).  This is the first time I've done this technique and what you see is my first and only attempt.  I couldn't believe how easy it was and it turned out fabulous!  I simply used removable tape to tape down the stencil, and smoothed the Paper Pen over it using a palette knife.  Here's a tip:  You'll want to immediately lift the stencil from the paper as soon as you've covered all the areas.  Mine stuck in a couple of places because I was taking too much time going over it -  AND the weather was hot, so I'm sure it dried faster than usual.  I want to do another one now just talking about it ha ha!  One more tip... wash the stencil as soon as you're finished so it'll be clean and ready for your next craft session : )

Take a look at those glamorous shoes and purse!  I've given them a coat of Transparent Gloss Gel and sprinkled Glamour Dust on top.  She's a bling-y girl after my own ♥!  Her hat is painted with Ice White Pearl Pen.  I hope you can see the texture.  I've also given her eyes a bit of Diamond Glaze to make them pop!  But that's not all...  here are a few more areas where I've embellished this 'card' - The lace which was already adorned with tiny pearls received a larger pearl with Rose Paper Pen, the homemade dp received more bling with Hologram Glitter Liner as did the roses.  To top it off, the corners were given an even larger pearl with Ice White Pearl Pen.  I had soooo much fun!!!

**(For those of you overseas, all Viva products I've used in my project (except the Paper Pen) can be purchased at Quixotic Paperie)**

Challenges Entered:
Creative Inspirations - anything goes

Here's the inside with some gorgeous Memory Box paper - Gossamer.  More tiny pearls with Rose Paper Pen and a cute lil' heart button to complete the closure.  The tutorial I used to make this DVD holder is Here.

Surprise!  I so love it when a plan comes together lol!  I needed a DVD to show you how this little card/DVD holder looks.  I just happened to have this DVD near me, so I popped it in and saw how perfectly the title stands out.  One Night with the King... Safe Travels... get the connection?  To God be the Glory!!!  Only He could turn this FUN project into a lesson lol!

Note:  For my international friends, Safe Travels can also be purchased at Quixotic Paperie.

And now... the moment you've been waiting for!  Let's talk CANDY!!!

I am soooo excited about our combined Viva Blog Hop with Quixotic Paperie and Susana's Custom Art & Card Design!!!   Here's a little background information... So each Store Blog will offer up one chance to win the set. How Yummy is that?!!  The candy will run thru the 31st.

The image has been cut out with my Circle and Scalloped Circle Nesties.  Oh!  I almost forgot... those beautiful pearls... they were created with Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Ice White!  Don't they look fabulous?  I absolutely am in love with this product!  Oh... shhhhh... A Color Challenge

Good morning!  I've been behind the scenes the last few days working on some exciting things!!!  Later on today, I'll have more details... but for now, I'm sharing my card for Paper Romance Challenge 8.  Has it been eight weeks already?  My goodness, my hair is turning gray as I speak lol!  Where does the time go?  This week's challenge is to use the colors chocolate, teal and white.  This is one of my favorite color schemes - yay!!!

Awwwwww... you know how much I loveeeeeee bears!  He's called Bird Watch.  You can find this cutie-pie at Paper Romance Here.  As a matter of fact, you'll want to browse through Amy's store cuz she has tons of items on SALE and some delish new papers in stock.

I've colored Mr. Bear with copics:  E37 E35 E33 E31 E30; B02 B01 B000; C2 C1; G28 G24 G21 G20.  The water has a nice coat of Diamond Glaze with a touch of Viva Decor Glitter Liner for sparkle!  I love using the glitter liner on my water now... Thanks Kim!  I wanted a little color where the greenery is, so I made little clusters of flowers with my Raspberry Fizz Flower Soft.  So far, the Raspberry Fizz is my fave : )

What do ya think about the pearls?  I've been practicing hee hee!  Here's a close up of my Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Ice White 'pearls.'  Cool, huh?  I'm tellin ya... if you haven't tried this product yet, you are really missing out on some FUN!  As a matter of fact, my birthday is coming up and my mom has been asking me what I'd like... hmmmm... how 'bout pearl pens and paper pens in every color????  (Hi mom!  No pressure - the whole world is watching though lol!!!!).

Now head on over to the Paper Romance Challenge to see what the Romancers have been up to!

Until next time...

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Girls Just Wanna Have Fu-un!

Good morning!!!  It's another fabulous week in sauna world...  You'd think with all this heat that I would drop a few pounds.  Instead, I do believe that I've gained a few more - ugh, ugh and double ugh!!!  Well, I've ordered the First Place 4 Health starter kit.  It should be here in about a week or so.  I AM determined to eat healthier and I think I've even convinced my hubby to join me! Yay!!!!!!  Do you think being able to eat at Arby's for lunch one day on the Summer Plan had anything to do with him agreeing?  Oh... he is such a meat n potatoes kind of guy.  Vegetables?  The only green thing that enters his mouth is a lime flavored Popsicle - hee hee!

Today's card features 'Fun in the Pool' which makes me think of summertime treats such as a Popsicle!!! She's all set for fun in the Sun!

Don't ya just love this sketch?  It's this week's challenge at Karen's Doodles US.  I think I should use it again : )  I do like how this card turned out... orange is not one of the colors I turn to most often, but I think it works and I really want to continue spreading my wing colors lol!

If you enter this week, here's what you could win!!!
She's of course colored with copics:  Hair - E25 E31 E50; Skin - E11 E21; Bathing Suit and snorkel - BG 13 BG 10 BG000; Ducky - Y15 Y13 Y11 Y00 and Y38 Y35 Y32 and BG01; Pool - Y38 Y35 Y32 and BG01 BG000; Grass - G28 G24 G21 G20.  Susana has convenient copic bundles in stock!  She even has tutorials by Suzanne J. Dean showing how to color with them.  Thanks Susana and Suzanne!!!

The lil' pumpkin's snorkel and water in the pool has a nice coat of Diamond Glaze on top.  When the Diamond Glaze dried, I added some BLING here and there with Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  I love how the water looks with the added glitter.  It's like the sun is dancing on the water!  Thanks to my teamie, Kim!!!  Kim has a great Water Tutorial using these products Here.

DP is Flower Shower Spring Stack by DCWV.  Here you can see the various layers and dimension.  Flowers are made with Nellie Snellen Punches and Embossing Punches with a brad in the center.  Viva Decor Glitter Liner on the petals gives the flowers more interest since I chose to use just one color.  Other tools I've used are:  Fiskars border punch, Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder, Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities.  I've finally gotten on the Tim Holtz distress ink (Broken China) and blending tool train : )  I LOVE this tool.  It is soooo much easier to use than the little sponge 'thingies' I was using!  The last touch was to add a few matching rhinestones.

If you're still with me...lol...I'd like to ask for prayer.  This little girl has been on my heart for some time now.  You can find her story Here.

Kate McRae needs your prayers.  She's already gone through so much (as well as her family).  If you could spare a few minutes, I'd really appreciate it!!!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

A Teddi to Love

How are y'all liking this weather?  Some people thrive in warmer climates... I'm not one of them!  I just melt and whine lol!  Not too pretty...so I'm happy to have an escape by crafting and visiting you, my friends.  If it's been awhile since I've visited you, please leave me a comment so I can find you easier and drop by to say Hi! ; )

Today I have a sample of my new paper pad by BasicGrey to show you.  It's called 'Olivia.'  I went a little bit (just a little) out of my comfort zone with this particular sheet of paper.  I don't normally use these colors and I wanted to expand my horizons lol!  What do ya think?  Anyway, as you know... I just LOVE bears!  Once again, I didn't realize how much I liked this stamp until I inked it up and colored it in!  I will be using this stamp for another project in a couple of weeks, so you'll be able to see the versatility : )

Isn't she adorable?  She's called 'Teddi and Friend.'  I've colored her with the following copics:  E25 E21 E00; BG18 BG13 BG10; R27 R24 R22 R20.

Her little heart shaped tummy and portions of the butterfly are sprinkled with Glamour Dust.  I love the sparkle that Glamour Dust has, but also the transparency!  When I want BIG SPARKLE without the transparency, I use my Viva Decor Glitter Pen.  There isn't anything with more BLING than Viva Decor!

How do you like the ongoing HEART theme?  The HEART dp, the HEART-shaped tummy, the HEART shape I made with pearls...  This is sooooo cool!  I used a template I had in my stash.  It was sooooo easy!  I just laid the template over the area I wanted the heart shape, put a pencil 'dot' where I wanted the pearls, removed the template and then used.... drum roll please.... Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Ice White.  I think they look pretty good, but I have a confession.  I've been having trouble making them look round.  I now have the answer!!!  If you've been having trouble with your Pearl Pen, here's what you need to know:  instead of touching the tip to your paper, make sure the tip is raised off the paper and the bottle is straight up and down.  This way the product will 'drop' out and settle into a perfectly formed 'pearl.'  You probably have been doing it right all along, but those of us who are a little slower... well... you know...  ha ha!

The image was cut out with my oval nestie and layered with a scalloped oval nestie cutout.  Ribbon is from my stash collection... sorry Liz, can't share lol!  Well, maybe...

Happy crafting, my friends!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

A Special Note from Bear

It's Friday...yippee!!!  I am especially glad for Friday this week.  That means that tomorrow we'll be going away for the day.  It has been a very long time since we've all taken a trip together.  Our household has lots of different schedules depending on the day.  My boys (who are now men!) have their own work schedules so sometimes we have dinner together and sometimes we don't...  We also get to bring our spoiled rotten, but oh so lovable furbaby, Sammy!  I hope he doesn't get car sick lol!  It's just a day trip, but I'm really looking forward to visiting family : )

Have you missed Di's images as much as I have?  I have a couple more in the works, but it seems forever since I've posted...  I just adore Bears!  They warm my heart and bring a smile to my face every time!!!  This one's no exception...  Isn't he darling?

The image is called, 'A Special Note from Bear.'  Dianne has soooo many adorable digis you can find Here. DP is from 7gypsies - savannah collection.  They have gorgeous 2-sided papers!!!  Susana doesn't have this particular collection, but she does have 7gypsies Here.  CS is Stampin' Up! - ballet blue.  Can anyone tell me where I can find a reinker for my stamp pad from Stampin' Up! in Ballet Blue?  It looks like this color might have been discontinued.  I am sooooo sad, cause it's my fave blue!
Don'tcha just wanna pick him up and cuddle him?  Awwwwwwww...hee hee!  I've colored him up with my fave copics.  Bear:  E35 E33 E31 E30; Fence: E18 E17 E15 E13; Blues: B34 B32 B00; Leaves: G28 G24 G21 G20.  The morning glories have a bit of Stardust Stickles around the edges, but only lightly because if you use Stickles on a printed digi image, the ink will smear.  Believe me, it's taken me more than a couple of times to remember this!  Ribbon is from my ever growing collection.  Does your ribbon multiply like mine does?  Really - even if I just buy one thing at the craft store, ribbon always ends up in the bag too... lol!  At least I am not in denial... I am addicted to ribbon and stamps and ........

Enjoy your weekend!  It's gonna be a scorcher in California - blech!  I will enjoy the air conditioning in the vehicle as we travel for a few hours.  Hopefully, we'll be where there's water and shade.  Oh!  Did you know that they make 'reader' sunglasses?  I know... it's an age thing... but how cool is that?  Now I can take a good book and read outside!  I am so excited : )  Gotta love the little things lol!  Yes, I am easily amused...

Thank you for visiting today!!!
