New Beginnings

It's New Year's Eve! Hard to imagine that a whole year has passed already!!! This time last year, I was still recovering from surgery ugh... but now I don't have any excuses, back to the gym!!!

I've been afraid to step on the scale lol! I KNOW that I've packed on the pounds during all the yummy holiday gatherings I've attended. It's so hard to resist, isn't it??? I have a pantry filled with goodies that Santa left in our stockings. I don't think that it should go to waste (or even better, it shouldn't go to WAIST hee hee).

So did you receive what you wanted for Christmas? I know that you had your heart set on some crafty goodness. The gifts I received were ALL wonderful! I have an amazingly generous family who loves me : )

Well... I'm back being a Fairy Princess! I'm happy to say that Roberta has asked me to come back to join her fabulous DT. Thanks so much, Bert : ) I have so much fun with her images! She's an awesome artist and it's always exciting to see what she's cooked up next.

Today (and every other Friday) is Fairy Fun Friday. Our challenge is 'New Beginnings.' Here's what I came up with using the oh so ca-uuuute Baby Emily...

Isn't she fun??? When I saw the challenge theme, I immediately thought of a baby card! I need to make more of them : ) I've also included a New Beginnings symbol using my MS punch for the butterfly.

I decided that Baby Emily needed gold posts for her ears...which then turned into a gold party for the whole card lol! She's colored with copics as well as the colorless blender to keep the colors softer. Here you can see that she's wearing gold rimmed glasses. I have a NEW MYSTERY PRODUCT that I've used, but I can't tell you yet what it is yet hee hee! As you'll see in the photos below, this GOLD product is ultra sparkly!!! I hope they also have silver! Anywho, the glasses needed to get a coat of Diamond Glaze on them, otherwise she might poke her eye out ha ha ha ha!

I actually punched the butterfly out twice. The first layer is from the pink dp which is behind the image, then I punched another one out of white cs. I used two coats of my MYSTERY PRODUCT on the butterfly. Papers I've used are from Nitwit. Nitwit has such yummy digi papers! You gotta take a peek!!! I picked up the flower at JoAnn's. It was sheer white, but I covered it with my MYSTERY PRODUCT...

Here's what two coats on a larger area looks like.
To make the pearls, I've used my fave Viva Decor Opal Paper Pen!

And this is three coats on a small area. After it dried, I gave it a coat of Diamond Glaze.

I hope you enjoyed my little card and are intrigued about what the MYSTERY PRODUCT might be : ) Come back soon to hear more!

May the New Year bring tons of FUN and JOY to you and your loved ones. Here's to a year filled with love and blessings!!!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Elisabeth Bell's BIGGGEST December Blog Candy!

Hey there! The clock is ticking louder and louder these days. Minutes seem to go by much faster than I'd like (at least until after Christmas!). I've pretty much done all the shopping - including a few stocking stuffers. As usual, I still need to wrap, wrap, wrap! Anybody have nothing to do and want to hang with me for a few hours? I didn't think so lol!

Have you seen the incredible BIGGGEST December Blog Candy on Elisabeth Bell's blog? I mean it is seriously BIGGGG! I may not qualify to enter since I'm on the DT at SCACD, but I really, really WANT to enter, so I'm gonna try :) This is my card using Carousel Dreams by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition #5. Isn't it a beauty? Elisabeth has such FABULOUS images!!!

I made this card awhile ago and it has been sold to a lovely lady in my hometown. She bought it for a friend's 80th birthday! Isn't that the sweetest? Happy Birthday, Mary : )

Here's a close-up showing you the Rasberry Fizz Ultra Fine Flower Soft! Instead of coloring the flowers, I used the Flower Soft for color... The rest is colored with copics: Horse - E59 E53 E51 E50; Mane, Tail, Hooves, Pole - E18 E17 E15 E 13; Reigns, Saddle - RV34, RV32 RV11 RV10 RV00; Leaves - G28 G21 G20. The entire card received a few spritz's of Maya Mist in Iridescent Pearl. I hope you can see it!

Here's the 'rarely decorated' inside! I do love the look of the inside beauty matching the outside, but most times I am rushing to get the outside done lol! The dp is Gossamer by Memory Box. I LOVE these papers!!! The border punch is by Fiskars and the half pearls are MS I believe.

Now... I've realized that I have a TON of cards that I haven't posted yet - can you believe it??? Hopefully, I can post in the next few days and in the days following Christmas. Better late than never?!?!

Thank you for taking your precious time to come visit me! I appreciate it so very very much!!!

I'll see you again tomorrow : )

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

New Release Now Available!

It's Thursday and ready or not... Christmas is coming!!! Did you realize that there is just over 1 week until Christmas? Yikes!!! Believe it or not, I just finished decorating the tree! Yes, you may call me Scrooge - Bah Humbug! I don't know what's wrong with me this year... Although I love having the lights up and a festive atmosphere, I certainly was a grump as I hung the stockings! I still need to finish up my shopping ugh...

Well, the update for my hubby with getting his truck driving license is... he didn't pass. He was so frustrated with himself because now he has to start ALL OVER. He was thinking yesterday that he wouldn't go back, but today he is considering going through the school again. I feel like a yo-yo lol! I'm just not looking forward to him being gone so much if he gets a job driving truck blech blech and double blech!!! Please keep us in your prayers! Oh well... if this is God's will for him, I'll just have to see if I can keep myself busy with DT work. That could be fun : )

Today I have a fun new image by Victoria Case for SCACD. This stamp is from The Vault section at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design! When I first saw The Yearling, I thought 'winter' even though she's not bundled up in her snow gear. She very easily could be in another Season such as Autumn or Spring. Can you envision her in the forest along with Thumper? I'm talking about the Bambi movie of course! The Yearling is definitely a darling versatile stamp!

I've stamped the image with Memento ink on Cryogen White and colored with copics. All panels have been stitched with my sewing machine. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it! I really love the look of stitching; I think it adds so much charm!

Here's a close up where you can see that my bottle of Diamond Glaze allowed too much to come out of the tip LOL! Her eyes are very shiny though... I also used my embossing tool to pick up some Diamond Glaze I had poured out on a scrap piece of paper to 'trace' over part of the sentiment. Can you see the Diamond Glaze on the word 'snow'? The papers, mittens and sentiment are from Nitwit. I love how everything coordinates : )

After I printed the precolored mittens, I cut them out and 'distressed' them using Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink and added a bit of Viva Decor Glitter Liner on the ribbon as well as a spot of Diamond Glaze on the button. I decided that they needed to hang on one side of the card, so I glued two pieces of cord the proper length to the back of each mitten and attached the top under the bow and added a button coated with Diamond Glaze on top.

For snow, I made 'snail trails' with Viva Decor Glitter Liner. Her hair bows, collar and cuffs also got a smidge of Glitter Liner. I used my white gel pen for the polka dots and highlights and finished off the card with pearls in the corners using my Opal Paper Pen - which I absolutely LOVE!!!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you've enjoyed my card!

Puppy Love ♥

Happy Thursday! I have some good news to share with you. My hubby has passed one of the three tests to get his truck driver's license. Yippeeeeee! It's a big deal cuz school was never easy for him. Sooooo, only two more to go - yay hubby!!!!!!!! The other good news is that I've lost 10 pounds! Yay for meeeeeeee lol! I really need to rejoice in that, but part of me knows that I could have lost even more during the 12 week First Place 4 Health Session. More times than I'd like to admit, my stomach won! On the other hand, it IS the Holiday Season where there are goodies around every corner, but I STILL lost 10 pounds. Yippeeeeeeeeee!!!

It's time for Try It Out *T* at the SCACD blog. This month we've been given the "anything goes" challenge, or free style. Lately, I've been making a number of Christmas cards, so I decided that I needed a change and made this Birthday card! Here's In the Moment by Victoria Case for SCACD. This is a NEVER SEEN BEFORE stamp
When I first saw this image, I thought it was cute, but now that I've colored her up and made this sweet card, I've fallen in LOVE ♥ hee hee! I've had the dp for ages, just waiting for this cutie-pie. I love the soft colors!

I've stamped the image with Memento Ink on cryogen white. Of course, you know that I've used my copics to color! Pinks: RV11 RV10 RV00; Yellows: Y13 Y11 Y00 toned down with E50; Hair: E35 E34 YR21 YR20; Skin: E11 E21 E00 R20; Puppy Dog: E35 E34 E33 E31 E30; Metal on collar: C1.

After coloring the balloon, I filled it in with Viva Decor Glitter Liner, then carefully pushed away any glitter that covered the eyes and mouth. When that dried, I gave it a nice coat of Diamond Glaze. I love the look of glitter under the glaze; it's a fun dimensional look!

I hope that you've enjoyed my little card today...

Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!

Jesus is the Reason for the Season Blog Hop
HERE

Good morning, my friends! Happy Thursday to you... Has your week flown by as fast as mine has? I've had some fun shopping this week, but also had a dreaded dentist appointment that I kept putting off until my broken tooth started hurting. Somehow that ends procrastination pretty quickly lol! So here we are on Thursday already...

I've been visiting a few of you at a time when I get the chance, and many of you are saying how cold it is. Some of you are even having snow! I am sitting here once again with my puppy dog heater, all warm and cozy... but when I poke my nose out from under the ribbon and paper, you are absolutely right - it's downright f-f-f-freezin'!!!

Well, I say that IF you have to be in the cold, you should at least have fun while you're in it! I've made this fun and freezin' cold card using I Got Your Back by Victoria Case for SCACD Winter Hearts and Hugs Set. Doesn't it just make you smile? It cracks me up! I LOVE it!!!

She's having such a wonderful time sledding down the snowy slope with that cute lil' penguin holding on lol! Admit it... it made you giggle, didn't it? Even if it wasn't an out loud giggle, your insides were cracking up, huh? huh? huh?

Here you can see a close up of the sparkly swirls. I used my Cricut to cut them out of acetate, then covered them with Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Gel and sprinkled Glamour Dust on top! I used this same technique for the snowflakes, then added a beautiful rhinestone in the center. Oh so easy to make with fabulous products!

This oh so fun image is colored with my fave copics: Hair - E49 E59 E25 E53; Skin - E11 E21 E00 R20; Clothing - BG18 BG13 BG11 BG10; Scarf and Mittens - R39 R37 R35; Sled - E29 E27 E25/C5 C1; Penguin - C9 C7 C5 C3 C1. To keep her ears warm, I've covered her ear muffs with Sugar Sparkly Fluff! To keep in style while having fun, she's also wearing some bling-y accessories which was easily created with stickles.

The Christmas papers are Memory Box Tinsel Collection. I love Memory Box papers, they are such good quality and come in lots of great patterns! This collection, as well as others are on SALE right now. Better get yours while they're still in stock!

Once again, I've created the snow scene using Polar White Flower Soft. You already know how much I LOVE to use this for snow!!! I'm sure that you'll be seeing this again and again and again hee hee!

Jesus is the Reason for the Season

Welcome! We are delighted to have you with us as we celebrate the Good News of our Savior's birth! If you've come from Kelly's blog, you are right on track! If you'd like to start at the beginning so you don't miss out, you'll want to head over to Heather's blog. We are a small band of blogging crafters who love God, and in the midst of all the seasonal festivities, we wanted to take some time to focus on the real meaning of Christmas: the birth of Jesus Christ. Of course there's nothing wrong with hustling and bustling about to find the "perfect gifts" for our loved ones. But when you stop to think about it, there will never be a gift more perfect than the gift God gave us in Jesus.

Gifts for You!!!
Thank you sooooo much to our very generous sponsors who have made gift giving possible!
3 winners will be chosen (one for each store gift above) from comments on select blogs, but it is a secret as to which blogs the winning comments will be chosen from! Be sure to comment on all blogs so you don't miss out!!!

There also might be a little something for you hidden in this post, so keep reading : )

Happy Birthday Kaycee!
This is the card I made for a dear friend who lost her daughter last year. We celebrated Kaycee's 1st Birthday with Jesus on November 24, 2010. Kaycee loved birthday parties, so I had to include the embossed cupcake background as well as the cupcake charm! The dove, of course, is symbolic of the Holy Spirit -- Who lived within Kaycee -- and Who brought her safely into the arms of Jesus, where she celebrates in Glorious Style everyday! I love you, Deborah ♥♥♥

Miracles...
The last Hop I participated in was for Breast Cancer Awareness. I shared my own Breast Cancer story and journey of healing with many visitors. You can read more about it Here. This time, I'd love for you to sit back and relax while I tell you another story! If you love to hear about miracles, you won't want to miss this lol!

If you know me at least a little bit, you know that I can tell a pretty long story at times... but don't worry, I'll try to give you the condensed version hee hee!!!

The Voice of the LORD

As I woke up one morning, I heard the voice of the LORD. On most any other day, I would love to hear what He had to say, but not this time. He was direct and to the point: "You have cancer." I questioned Him, "LORD?" (hoping to hear a word of healing). He was faithful and DID tell me... "I AM healing you." Now what was I supposed to do with that? I was left to the silence of my bedroom.

Jesus Appears
*Fast forward A LOT* Jesus came to me while I slept one night. I was lying down with Jesus on my right side at my head. I felt something wet on my chest, wondering why I would be covered with water... As I looked, I saw that it was blood - not just any blood, but the BLOOD OF THE LAMB! I was so excited!!! These were the Words God spoke to me three years earlier, "Healed by the Blood of the Lamb." Then Jesus reached down into my abdomen and took something out. I was moaning due to the pain, but it didn't last very long. I saw Him leave as He moved to my left side past my feet.

You'd Think I'd Believe...
*More Fast Forwarding* One day a friend went with me to my doctor to find out the results of the biopsy. The doctor said that if it was cancer, I'd have to be referred to a Specialist, so this appointment would reveal the next steps. As we walked to the front door of the building, my friend reminded me that Jesus already healed me. I wasn't totally sure. Yes, God said He would heal me. He appeared to me in a dream where He removed something. But I could not be 100% positive that He had ALREADY healed me. I had gone through 'hell' with Breast Cancer and knew that sometimes God allows us to go through trials instead of delivering us from trials.

A Sigh of Relief
Oh blessed be the Name of the LORD!!! NO cancer!!! Praise You, Jesus!!!

*Even more fast forwarding* A complete hysterectomy was performed on me November 6, 2009. No uterus, no fallopian tubes, no ovaries... nothing - totally gutted! And now with no breasts, I've changed my name to Lawrence HA HA HA HA! Just kidding : ) Everything was checked for signs of cancer - not one single cell was found. Did Jesus heal me? OH YEA... Does He still perform miracles today? You betcha!!! Just ask me - I've got LOTS more stories...

I am eternally grateful that God has spared my life and for the witness He is allowing me to be for Him. Will I ever stop telling my story? Not as long as I have breath!!!

More Gifts
...and now... if you've read this far (I know, you started with coffee and a donut, and now it's time for dinner lol!) I have a little surprise for someone : ) Do you need a CRICUT cutting mat? I have a 2 pack (for use with paper sizes up to 6" x 12"). One mat has been used slightly, but is almost in new condition. I will also throw in some other goodies which might be paper, ribbon... If you'd like to receive this gift, enter by InLinkz below.

You, my friends, bring me such JOY! I am grateful for your friendship! Please accept this token of my love ♥
