A Present for You!

Welcome back friends!  Before I whine a bit, I want to let you in on a secret...  There is candy hiding in today's post : )  Well, today is Wednesday, but it sure feels like a Monday!!!  Can I cry on your shoulder for just a little while?!?  I'm not even sure why LOL.  Some days are just like that, you know?  I've been working very hard on A LOT of things...  One of which is eating healthier and exercising more.  A very good thing which I am happy about is that so far I've lost 15 pounds - yay me!!!  Blood work done in a couple of months will reveal how things are looking on the inside.  If you are over the age of 40, you know the aches and pains life brings...everything seems more difficult when your body hurts and you get tired faster ... Oh thank God for crafting!  What would we do without it?

I have a confession to make.  Painting is done and floors were installed in my new craft room last week, BUT I haven't done anything to finish the detail work so I can begin to fill it up!  What in the world is wrong with me?  I've been moaning and groaning about having my craft supplies all over the house, and now that there is a perfectly good room (almost) ready, I am dragging my feet.  Want to know a secret?  I'm not sure what to do with it!!!  The desk I'm currently using is HUGE.  I mean BIG and HEAVY HUGE!!!  There is no way that I can get it into my craft room.  What do I use for desk space?  On a very limited budget, I need to come up with something... Any ideas?  I'd LOVE to know...  What do you use?  I'd also like to put my computer in there.  The room is about 12'x12' which is a pretty good size.  Help!?!?!

*End of whining..*  : )

OK...my title today is a tiny bit misleading, but it really does lead into a present for someone!  First, in 2 more days, I will reveal the WINNER of my Surprise Candy : )  If you missed it, you can find all the information *Here.*  I've enjoyed reading all of your comments about what you like to give/receive as Blog Candy.  You've given me some great ideas... and just maybe YOUR idea will be offered as candy!  Btw, I agree with each and every one of you hee hee.

So... for today, I am offering this lovely lady, Precious Present by Sylvia Zet for SCACD as a present!  If you'd like to have a chance at giving this beauty a home, just leave me a comment on THIS post by next Wednesday, October 5.  I'll announce the winner shortly after...

Sorry, I'm not at home (where I have the list) to let you know which copics I've used to color her... and boy is she FUN to color!!! DP is Webster Pages *Here.*  The metal embellishment in the corner was made by yours truly.  It's the last one I had, so I have to make more!  I began by making a mold of 4 stacked metal corners (because they are so thin).  I filled the mold with Crystal Gel (which happened to be Blue/Green) and let dry overnight.  After removing from the mold and trimming, I applied a generous coat of Silver Precious Metal Paint (LOVE this paint!!!).  Voila'!  It is very lightweight and easy to adhere to your card or project.  The best part about having molds is that I can make as many as I need and use any color to match my card.  Tutorial using Molds and Crystal Gel/Modeling Creme *Here.*

Isn't she a doll?
I've glittered her wings with Ice Crystal Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint.
So easy to use... just paint on!  No glue or messy glitter to get everywhere : )

Of course, I needed to sneak in some pearls using my Rose Paper Pen (THIS is my absolute fave paper pen of all time!!!)  Susana carries lots of different colors *Here.*

I've been asked to show my paper pens, but again, I'm not at home, so until I can get some up close and personal photos of what the paper pens look like and the different pearls they make, take a look at this Tutorial on Making Your Own Scrolls *Here.*  The paper pens are the same size (BIG!).

I hope that the good outweighed my little whining session today lol.  It's not fun to continually hear someone complaining is it?  I do try to allow Jesus to shine through in whatever I'm doing, but...since I'm human...EEK!!!  Not perfect, just saved : )  Praise be to God!!!

Thank you so much for joining in the fun today.  Don't forget to leave a comment if you'd like to be in the draw for Precious Present!  You can find the rest of this Oh-So-Adorable Release by Sylvia Zet for SCACD *Here.*

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul~

You've created one gorgeous card! Wow! Thanks for the chance to win. I'm also interested in the suggestions for desks--one day I'll be able to move from the kitchen to an actual crafting room!

Hi Lori, I totally understand you i''m also 40+ and get in some outrages mood sometime i feel like crying somedays and the next depressed, and then all happy, What's a woman to do. Somedays i feel like cleaning the whole house and others a don't feel like doing one thing. LOL ok enough of that.
Ok far as a table use a board as my table i had my Hubby cut me up a cabnet table he had and i had 2 file cabnets and just set the cabnet top on it and have it against a wal he also screwed it to the wall. I hope that works

Gorgeous card, Lori!! Just stunning colors that you've used! Love that glimmery paint!! The image is stinkin' adorable, too!!!! Good luck with your room... some days you just need to whine a little... and when you are stuck for ideas.. well, whining just works!! LOL!! You will have a nice size room! Mine is 9 x 9, and I have all kinds of grand ideas, but for now I just use one of the Lifetime tables... which I do NOT recommend! They stain and actually aren't sturdy enough for a lot of what I do. I used to have a counter top that my hubby built with some drawers underneath, but it was originally my son's bedroom and had holes drilled into it... don't ask!! LOL!! Anyway, that is what I will have again, when we get around to it... I love countertops and you can get them pretty cheap! And wow... what a long comment... sorry about that!!
Have a lovely day!!

WOW 15 lbs you go girl.... I am only 25 and have thyroid problems so I know your pain I just eat healthy work out hard and cannot lose weight lol. As for the table.... go to a a depot or lowes and the wood department and ask how can you make a desk based on certain measurements and they can cut the wood for you so when you get home you nail and glue it together and stain it and bam you have a cheap desk!
