Do You Love Butterflies?

Have I told you lately how much I love you?  I think that it's been awhile... and who doesn't need to hear that???  Well, I DO!  I love you!!!  You always bring a smile to my face : )  You listen to my ups and downs and everything in-between!  Thank you for all your sweet comments about having pizza with my son, Chris (this is the first time I've shared his name with you).  We had a very good time!!!  I remember when I moved out of the house and how that changed the dynamics of my relationship with my parents.  I see the same thing with Chris.  Of course, I've always enjoyed his company... but something changes when your 'kids' move out.  I see how he's maturing and you know... he's one of the two BEST sons in the whole world!!!  *Disclaimer:  As not to offend you, I acknowledge that you also have the BEST children lol!!!

So... do you love butterflies as much as I do?  Now if you ask me (I know you didn't, but I'm gonna pretend that you did lol!) until I found some disgusting moth type insects in my pantry, I loved the symbolism and the beauty of butterflies.  Well, actually I still do love those things, but those darn moths poured ugly paint upon the beautiful tapestry in my mind!  Kinda like if you remember a boy named Brian in 3rd grade who sat next to you and picked his nose and put it on the desk (ewwwww!) then you may not be totally open to the name Brian (sorry Brian's out there...).  Of course, this is totally just supposing LOL!!!  That's what it's like with the moth/butterfly for me now, so when I saw Tulipa, I had to make the butterfly very colorful : )

Copics:  BG09 BG07 BG05 BG02 BG01 BG000 BG0000; YG63 YG03 YG01 YG00 YG0000; E49 E59 E25 E53; C2 C0.
Her wings are colored with BG000, given a coat of Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Gel and topped with Crystal Super Fine Glamour Dust.  Using the Gel Pen gives the wings a little more dimension than using glue and glitter.  Her headband was given a 'swipe' of Glitter Liner as was the edges of the very colorful butterfly : )  The cute li'l half pearls were made using my Cobalt Blue Paper Pen - I still LOVE my paper pens.  Note:  I see that Susana isn't carrying Cobalt Blue Paper Pens anymore, but a suitable substitution is Turquoise Pearl Pen!

The gorgeous dp is Chapter One by Kaisercraft, (now 15% off!) which I also used for the tulip tag.  Aren't the flowers awesome which accompany the stamps from the Fall Flora Fairies?  You can do so much with them!  If I had more time, I'd make my own dp using these tulips!  What other things can you dream up?  Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Tomorrow I will have a card to share that I made for Chris' friend.  I want to tell you in advance that he MADE me spell everything wrong - ha ha...  You'll see what I mean!!!

Have you entered my LOADS of Ribbon CANDY yet?  I've also included:

Peeker Fever Preview Day Three and Candy!

Welcome back my sweet friends!  It's been very quiet here lately... so much going on in my life right now!  Actually, when isn't there something going on in each of our lives???  Just sometimes, it seems more intense... This is another season of change for me.  My 'baby' moved out on Saturday (waaaaaaaaaa).  I'm excited for him, but also sad :(  As a mom, don't you just want to hold onto your children forever?  I wouldn't mind lol!  BUT, I have good news!  I'm gonna have a new craft room!!!  I try and focus on that instead of missing my son.  Most times it works, but then something comes up and I get this pain in my heart (waaaaaaaaaaaa).  Enough blubbering!  Let's move on to something FUN...

If you haven't heard, Susana has announced the New Outbreak of Peeker Fever!  Oh my!  Did you love the 'old' Peekers?  Well, get ready for the BEST Peekers ever!  I don't know how Elisabeth Bell does it, but she keeps getting better n better!!!  I can't even tell you a favorite in this New Release... you'll definitely want 'em all!  There are still two Peekers you haven't seen, so you'll want to check out the Designers showcasing those Wednesday and Thursday (see Store Blog).  AND... there are even two more which won't be shown until Release Day on July 29.  So many adorable stamps Oh My!

Today's Sneak Peek is Bubble Bath Peeker by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD.  I'm tellin ya... I sure could use a spa day - not to mention a good soak in the bathtub!

Except for the flip flops, I've gone Crystal Gel crazy again : )  Need I repeat myself and say, "I LOVE this stuff!!!"  The 'bubble' button on the bow and the rubber ducky started out as buttons.  I created a mold for each one and filled them with Transparent Crystal Gel.  When dry (I usually let it sit overnight) I popped them out of the molds, trimmed the excess (very easy to do) and painted them.  Ta Da!  Unique embellies that I can make over and over and paint any color I want.  How great is that?  I'm tellin ya... I am having a BLAST with Crystal Gel and mold making.  I also have quite a few colors of Modeling Creme that you'll soon be seeing as more unique and personalized embellies. Oooooh, I can't wait for you to see the embellies I've made for Release Day!  I can hardly believe I made 'em...  Check back here on the 29th - I may be able to get a mini tutorial together for you by then.  If you love molds, you won't want to miss this!!!

Splish splash... so many bubbles lol!  Liquid Applique makes fabulous bubbles : )  Everything is wet in this adorable image... even the shiny bathtub!  Diamond Glaze does such a great job making things shiny - LOVE it!  DP is from the awesome Be Mine Paper Pad by Echo Park.  Another LOVE it hee hee...  For a little sparkle, I've outlined the inner panel and edges of the doily (which is actually cs cut with a die!) with Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  I only used a little, but it sure does have a BIG sparkle!  The flower centers on the flip flops and the black 'pearls' in the corners are Granite Paper Pen - yay... I finally got to use black : )

I hope you've enjoyed my card as much as I enjoyed creating it!  And now... it's CANDY time : )

SCACD Palooza Blog Hop!

Good morning friends!  It's a wonderful day for a Blog Hop...  I'm so glad that you are here : )  If you've come from Marti's blog and her fabulous work, you are right on track, if you'd like to start at the beginning, it's Here.

I ADORE this new image by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD from the mini Sampler Edition #1 set.  I love angels and everything they symbolize, so I'm very excited to be able to showcase her for ya!  I'd like to introduce Angel of Hope...

Isn't she beautiful?  I chose to create a holiday/winter theme with her, but she could be used ANY time of year for ANY occasion!  I am going to use her again to create a card of encouragement for a friend who is going through a difficult time.

I've colored her beautiful, flowing hair with copics E35 E34 YR21 YR20.  Her wings are colored with YR21 and a touch of E34, then generously coated with Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  When that dried, I GENTLY dabbed more color on top.  Oh so sparkly!!!

I think that I've created my own style with this card - it's called elegant grunge LOL!  The 'put your sunglasses on,' bright sparkles around the edges of the card is Gold 3D Glitter-Gel.  The blue roses were not the shade I wanted, so I added some white gel pen to tone them down and then some Gold 3D Glitter-Gel to tie it all together!

So did ya notice that I don't have one speck of dp in this card?  Unusual for me, but it was a good challenge!  For texture on the white cs, I used my 5 x 7 embossing folder.  I love that size!  Now I wish that all my EFs were bigger...

The big, beautiful, ribbon and bow share the spotlight with Angel of Hope.  Isn't it pretty?  Gold half pearls set in the corners finish off this elegant grunge creation.

You can buy all the new stamps today either from Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design in the US
OR in the UK from Quixotic Paperie!

Your next stop is Anki!

In case you've lost your way, here's the Hop list:
