Sweet Meets Sassy #2 Available Now!!!

Want this badge?

Welcome back!!!  Did you enjoy the Designer Showcase Days for the NEW RELEASE by Victoria Case for SCACD?  Aren't they ADORABLE?  A little bit sweet... a little bit sassy...  Have you checked the store blog to see if you are one of the lucky WINNERS?  Yesterday, Dianne and I showcased the lovely Lola.  I couldn't help but take a peek myself to see who won her!  Congratulations... WINNER... hee hee!  Congratulations also to the other 4 WINNERS - yay!!!
Today is the final reveal of the 'last' 3 stamps in this FABULOUS collection, Sweet Meets Sassy #2 by Victoria Case for SCACD.  You can find the final three lovely ladies on the store blog Here.

Before you go... I'd like to show you my take on Femme Fatale.  I hope you like her!

Doesn't she scream elegance?  She's definitely ready for a special night out!!!  Can a person be jealous of a stamped image? LOL!!!  Just checking... hee hee...  She's GORGEOUS!  I wanna go out looking like her : )

I stamped Femme Fatale on Cryogen White with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored her with my MOST FAVE copics:  B29 B28 B26 B24; E49 E59 E25 E53.  I 'colored' the oh-so-sparkly BLING on her gloves, shoes and earring with Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  I knew right away that the Glitter Liner was perfect for this image.  Don't you love it?  I also LOVE how the Diamond Glaze gives her beautiful eyes even more dimension and shine.  It really makes them stand out!

Do you think I could do a card without some HOMEMADE embellies?  Not yet...  I'm tellin ya that this is the best thing since sliced bread lol!  I am having waaaaaaaay too much fun to stop now!  This time, however, the pearls are store bought *gasp*  You can find them Here.

Some of you may have the metal corners from Wild Orchid and have already recognized them.  No, these are not metal.  However, I did use about 5 of the metal corners (stacked on top of each other) to make a mold.  I haven't placed my order for more Crystal Gel yet, so I'm still using Modeling Creme in Pearl Rose which works great too!

Homemade Embellies 101:
First is the mold.  Quick and easy, it's like very soft clay which hardens into a flexible mold.  I like to place my object flat on a craft-able surface and place the molding material over it.  This way, when I turn it over and fill it in with Modeling Creme or Crystal Gel, I can 'frost' it without all the lumps and bumps.   It needs to sit for a number of hours to dry (depends on thickness of mold, temperature, etc.).  Once dry, I peel it out of the mold, clean up the edges and cover the piece with Perfect Medium and brush on Perfect Pearls or Mica Powder.  Then it gets a quick spray of Krylon Fixatif so the powder doesn't rub off.  I hear that you can also use hair spray...

There are many other ways to change the color of the Crystal Gel or Modeling Creme, so you are not stuck with one color!  If you saw my post yesterday, I made an ADORABLE puppy using Pearl Rose Modeling Creme and painted it white with black eyes and nose.

For this card, I changed the color of the corner embellishments from Pearl Rose to True Blue using Perfect Pearls and topping it off with a coat of Diamond Glaze.  For the glittered dots and diamond shaped design, I sprinkled blue glitter in the mold and then filled in with Blue/Green Crystal Gel.  I LOVE how the glitter sticks to the Crystal Gel - it will NOT come off!

Well... I hope that you've been inspired to try something new today!  Come back and tell me where to find your project so I can take a peek : )

Thank you so much for visiting... I always love to see you, my sweet friends

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul~

Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum...

Land Ho!  Are you ready for an adventure?  It's time to set sail once again and travel to uncharted territory!  Curious yet?  Find out more below...

Today, I have the privilege of showcasing two of the Make It Crafty stamps!  You'll also want to check out a few of my DT sister's blogs because they also are showcasing some of the Make It Crafty stamps which are NOW AVAILABLE at SCACD!!!  You'll find the links to their awesome creations at the store blog.

I LOVE these papers... 6x6 Be Mine by Echo Park (except for the map which I had in my stash).  The cool pirate ship is from The Cutting Cafe : )

Challenges Entered:
Crafts for Eternity - "R" (round, aRRgh)
Creative Friday - Black White Pink
Pile It On - Metal (faux metal)
Southern Girls - Anything Goes
Simon Says - Bingo (Buttons, Pearls, Shape)
Top Tip Tuesday - Open Challenge
Simon Says Stamp and Show - (faux metal)
Paper Variety - Mixed Alphas (Arrgh/background text)
Totally Stampalicious - Something Old (alpha mold) Something New (stamps)
Bearly Mine - Anything Goes

Colored with copics and accented with the following products: Viva Decor Glitter Liner for the blade; Celebration Pink Ultra Fine Glamour Dust Paint on pearls/jewelry; Gold Glitz Ultra Fine Glamour Dust Paint on coins.  (If I get time later, I'll edit with the copic colors I used).

One of the embellies I made with Crystal Gel.  I used Blue Green and painted the blade with Precious Metals Paint in silver.  The handle is a wee bit distressed with Gold Perfect Pearls.

More homemade embellies!!!  I have an alphabet mold and filled it with Crystal Gel (blue green).  When it dried, I had to yank it out (honestly, it did NOT come out with ease).  Silicone molds are definitely the way to go!!!  I used Perfect Medium and Gold Perfect Pearls to cover the blue/green color.  I was amazed at how well it took on the color!

The 'coins' are tiny buttons I found which I also made a mold of.  To make the mold, I found Amazing Mold Putty.  This stuff is incredibly easy to work with.  If Susana doesn't carry a particular mold and you happen to have what you're looking for at home, why not try making your own mold?  Crystal Gel works perfectly with the Amazing Mold Putty!  It is very light weight, so you're not adding so much weight and bulk to your cards.  Again, I covered the blue/green Crystal Gel with Perfect Medium and Gold Perfect Pearls.  Voila'... cute lil' coins!

Dimension, but not the weight : )  I am sooooo in LOVE with molds and Crystal Gel!!!  I'm having so much fun, I only have 1/2 the jar left (and it's a HUGE jar!).  You'll be seeing lots of embellies with Crystal Gel coming up... hee hee

Don't forget to check out the store blog and see what crafty goodness my DT sisters have come up with!

As always...

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul~

Image is colored with copics, of course!  Panels are stitched with love ♥

First Snowball of Winter

Today begins a new week at work for many - and oh so difficult after the Christmas/New Year break! However, I am not one of them... at least I do not have an office or a particular 'job' to go to. One of my jobs is housework like cooking and cleaning - ugh! Another of my jobs is the ministry work in and out of church; and still another is to exercise and then hang out at Starbucks. Well, somebody's got to do it lol!!! Back to the old grindstone hee hee...

This is a card I made about a month ago I think, but I never got around to posting. I've used First Snowball of Winter by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Winter Sampler. Susana has had too much free time, so give her a visit sooooon (JUST KIDDING!!!). Susana always works double time and gives us all the best service : ) But do pop on over and check out the NEW PRODUCTS she has in the store!!! Just wait... your eyes are gonna pop out like mine did!

I've used Viva Decor Glitter Liner to enhance the swirl die cut as well as a bit more bling on her hat and jeans. For snow on the ground, I glued Polar White Flower Soft (15% off!) up and under her shoes so it looks like she's 'in' the snow :)

For a soft furry trim, her jacket got the Sparkly fluff treatment as well as the pom pom on her hat! I think I over did her eyes a bit lol! I wanted them to be nice and shiny, but I made the hole on my Diamond Glaze bottle too big - sigh... she has the prettiest eyes though!

The silver ribbon lace and snowflakes came from Jo-Ann's...

Thanks for stopping by my little part of the world :) Please pray for my hubby this week. He is trying to obtain a license so he can drive truck. Things haven't gone smoothly... Please pray that God's will be done! I appreciate it more than you know!!!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Simple Paper Piecing

Happy Happy New Year!!! Did you have a wild party to ring in the New Year? How about a quiet one? I attended a party for one lol! No, I take that back - it was actually two (my puppy dog and I!). I am past the wild party stage and have enjoyed a few quiet gatherings in past years, but this year just felt good to be home. There's no place like home, there's no place like home : )

As I reflected on the past year, looking at all the cards and projects I've made, first of all I'm amazed at the quantity (for me) I produced. I also found a few that I haven't posted yet... Here's to a New Year of even more creations, and of course, better quality projects! I've enjoyed visiting many of you and have learned so much. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your talent with me!!!

So this is a little card I made for a young lady's baby shower. The image is Bundle of Love by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Winter Sampler. It's my first paper piecing yahooooooo! Don't look too close lol! Isn't she cute and cuddly?

This is a quick and easy 3 x 3 card... The only tricky part was deciding how to cut away her face from the paper piecing! I will do it differently next time... The soft furry trim on her hat is Sparkly Fluff which I attached using my Quickie Glue Pen. Even though the area I wanted fuzzy isn't small and detailed, the Quickie Glue Pen was really quick and easy so I opted for that. The ball at the end of her hat and the cute little star on her pram (is that what you call it???) was made sparkly with Viva Decor Glitter Liner. This Glitter Liner can get in the most detailed areas - that's one of the things I really like about it! I popped on a tiny bow and she's ready to go : )

SCACD Reopens!
Have you tried to go shopping at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design lately? If you have, you know that the store has been closed for the holidays. But cheer up! TOMORROW (January 2, 2011) you will find some brand new items that you didn't even know that you needed ROFL!!! Susana has the best service and she's constantly bringing the most FUN crafty tools and yummy goodness ever! You'll definitely want to hop on over to the store to see what she's cooked up for us next : )

Thank you for being a very important part of my life over the past year. I look forward to a long and lasting relationship with each and every one of you ♥

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Puppy Love ♥

Happy Thursday! I have some good news to share with you. My hubby has passed one of the three tests to get his truck driver's license. Yippeeeeee! It's a big deal cuz school was never easy for him. Sooooo, only two more to go - yay hubby!!!!!!!! The other good news is that I've lost 10 pounds! Yay for meeeeeeee lol! I really need to rejoice in that, but part of me knows that I could have lost even more during the 12 week First Place 4 Health Session. More times than I'd like to admit, my stomach won! On the other hand, it IS the Holiday Season where there are goodies around every corner, but I STILL lost 10 pounds. Yippeeeeeeeeee!!!

It's time for Try It Out *T* at the SCACD blog. This month we've been given the "anything goes" challenge, or free style. Lately, I've been making a number of Christmas cards, so I decided that I needed a change and made this Birthday card! Here's In the Moment by Victoria Case for SCACD. This is a NEVER SEEN BEFORE stamp
When I first saw this image, I thought it was cute, but now that I've colored her up and made this sweet card, I've fallen in LOVE ♥ hee hee! I've had the dp for ages, just waiting for this cutie-pie. I love the soft colors!

I've stamped the image with Memento Ink on cryogen white. Of course, you know that I've used my copics to color! Pinks: RV11 RV10 RV00; Yellows: Y13 Y11 Y00 toned down with E50; Hair: E35 E34 YR21 YR20; Skin: E11 E21 E00 R20; Puppy Dog: E35 E34 E33 E31 E30; Metal on collar: C1.

After coloring the balloon, I filled it in with Viva Decor Glitter Liner, then carefully pushed away any glitter that covered the eyes and mouth. When that dried, I gave it a nice coat of Diamond Glaze. I love the look of glitter under the glaze; it's a fun dimensional look!

I hope that you've enjoyed my little card today...

Challenges Entered:
CES Challenge - The Sketch
Catch the Bug - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Sugar Sweet Paper Treats - Anything Goes
Woodware USA - Birthday Card
Card Makin Mamas - Anything Goes

A Cool New Tool at SCACD!!!
If you like the look of sewing, this little gem is a must have! Take a peek Here. I can't wait to get mine!!!

See you soon, my friends : )

TLC Try It Out *T*

Wwwwweeeeeeeeeee....... what a ride it's been lol!  I can't believe it's already Thursday!!!  Have you noticed that life continues to move forward whether or not you bought the ticket AND got on the plane?  I believe that God has much to do in and through us in these days and sometimes it feels like He is moving things at a snail's pace - other times faster than lightning!  One thing I DO know... He is always in control and desires all people to come to Him for eternal life.  What else could be more important than one's eternal destiny???  I'm praying that YOU have eternal life through Jesus Christ.  He says, 'I am the way, and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.'  John 14:6

There is so much going on in the world and so many hurting people...  My heart breaks!  I do thank God for bringing people like you into my life and for blessing me with this crafting community - many days, THIS is what keeps me sane lol!  So... with the thought of those who are ill, I've made a card using Sketch Saturday's sketch to hopefully cheer them up :D

This week, Suzanne has challenged us to use 2 papers, 2 products and 2 embellishments on our Try It Out *T* projects.  Come join us, I'm having a blast!!!

The image is called TLC by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Animapeeps Collection.  She's lovingly holding and caring for her dolly!  Doesn't it make you want to go give someone a hug?  Someone needs a hug, I say!  Maybe it's you... [HUG]

Challenges Entered:
Sketch Saturday - sketch
Alphabet Challenge - Scallops
Twisted Thursday - Animals
Pear Tree Designs - Animals
365 Cards Day 191 - All Creatures Great and Small
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Animal Crackers
Freshed Brewed - Brown
Cowgirl Sunday - Anything Goes

I've used the following copics to color in TLC:  Browns - E18 E17 E15 E13; Greens - G28 G24 G21 G20.  I added a touch of Gold Spica Pen to her eyelid for a bit of sparkle.  For LOTS of sparkle and for my first product,  I used Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  I think I've pretty much covered the whole card lol!

I've used Diamond Glaze on the eyes and shoes for 'product #2'.  For one of my two embellishments, I used a Maya Road Chipboard blossom which I 'smooshed' into a brown inkpad, then gave it a good coat of Glitter Liner.  The flower on top was from my stash.  I distressed it a bit with Antique Photo and touched the ends with Glitter Liner.  So even though the flowers are separate, they are glued together as one.  So I'm counting that as one :)

Papers are KAISERCRAFT Hippy Girl Collection.  I've even covered the lines on the dp with Glitter Liner!   I LOVE this stuff hee hee.  It can get into even a small area and will leave trails of glitter lines - so cool!  The ribbon was sheer white with spots... I distressed it with Antique Photo, edged and dotted it with Glitter Liner.  Does that count as a second embellishment?  Hmmmm... I think ribbon is pretty much a 'staple' for me, so for my second embellishment I'm claiming the sparkly buttons!  Guess what I used to make them so sparkly... lol!

I hope that you've found some love, comfort, a few laughs and a little inspiration here today!  I thoroughly enjoy our visits and look forward to seeing you every time : )

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~
