Designer Showcase Day 5 - It's Lola!

Happy Thursday to you, my friends!  I am gearing up for a little trip to Yosemite tomorrow - yay!!!  It's been awhile since we've been there, so hubby and I are headed out early in the morning to pick up our friends who will be joining us.  I can not wait!!!  I know that the falls will be overflowing and beautiful with all the melted snow from the mountains... the rivers will be very fast and full (we will not be in any of them, thankfully!).  Oh, the weather will be in the upper 70's which is perfect.  I will show you some pictures when I return : )
Today is Designer Showcase - Day 5 for the soon-to-be-released "Sweet Meets Sassy Collection #2" by the enormously talented, Victoria Case for SCACD!!

I am so excited to share my card with you which features the ADORABLE new image... Lola.  She's soooo sweet in her chic outfit while walking the oh-so-cute puppy dog!  I hope you enjoy my creation!

Link
I just LOVE this whole NEW Release!  I'm sure that you will love them too... They are sooo sweet and sassy :)  DP is a combination of Echo Park Summer Days and from my stash...

 Of course, Lola is colored with copics:  R29 R27 R24 R22; B04 B02 B01 B00; E35 E34 YR21 YR20.

More HOMEMADE embellishments!  Susana carries Mold-n-Pour Here.  You can make your own molds too : )  Yep... this is from a mold I made from a puppy dog button I had stashed!  I've already gone through my Crystal Gel (I've made a TON of fabulous items) so I dug out my Viva Decor Modeling Creme.  I have Pearl Rose and Pearl Light Blue... neither of which are dog colors, so after it dried, I used white acrylic paint, black for the eyes and nose and covered the whole thing with Diamond Glaze.  It's not perfect, but I kinda like it : )

These three buttons and decorative backing are made with Crystal Gel in Blue/Green.  The buttons were covered with Perfect Medium and Turquoise Perfect Pearls, then coated with Diamond Glaze.  I already had the button mold, but Susana has some FABULOUS button molds you'll LOVE Here.  The glittered backing was made by coating the bottom of the mold I created from another button with fine glitter and filling it in with Crystal Gel.  The glitter is held tight with the Crystal Gel!  I really like this technique... it's so much cleaner than gluing and glittering after!!!

This ADORABLE doggie bone was made the same way as above.  I made the mold from a button, put glitter on the bottom and filled the rest with Crystal Gel...  Isn't it cute???  And there's a Viva Decor Pearl in Ice White I snuck in the photo!

Now... today you have a chance to WIN this fabulous image... all you have to do is leave me a comment on this post, and go over and visit my very talented DT sister, Dianne, and leave her a comment too. We will be drawing one random winner from our comments, how awesome is that????

Thanks so much for taking a peek!  Don't forget to leave a comment here and also at Dianne's!!!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul~

I Love This Stamp!!!

Hello friends!  It's Saturday afternoon here in (un)sunny California.  Rain rain rain... the forecast doesn't look any sunnier for the next couple of days.  It's OK with me though.  I have so much that I need to get caught up with.  I haven't had time to visit any of you this week :(

Last night, I gave my testimony at Celebrate Recovery.  It was so amazing as God spoke through me.  I was totally transparent (meaning that I hid nothing).  I spoke of things I haven't thought about in YEARS!  I truly believe that as we are honest with one another, taking off the masks that we wear to look good, people begin to trust us and relationships are formed.  That's what this life is about...developing relationships with one another, hopefully shining through 'cracked pots.'

I've been a 'cracked pot' for so many years, it's amazing that I'm still in one piece.  I know that it's Jesus, the Master Potter who has taken the broken pieces of my life and molded me into the vessel He desires.  Can you picture this?  Think of an upside down clay pot which has been broken and glued back together, but all of the pieces don't match exactly because some of the pieces have been worn away or chipped.  Now put a brightly shining candle inside.  Where does the light shine through?  The cracks!  In the same way, as Jesus heals the brokenness of our hearts, the scars (or cracks) are still there, but His light shines BEST through those cracks!  Oh blessed be His glorious Name!!!

God has taken the ashes of my life and turned them into beauty (if you read the Bible, I'm referring to Isaiah 61 - beauty for ashes!).  This image truly is a beauty!!!  I am totally in love with it ♥  It's one of the beauties from the Natural Beauty Collection by Carmen Medlin for SCACD, Naturally Styled.

Don't you just love it?  Carmen has created so many 'winners' in this collection,
it is next to impossible to choose only one lol!
Copics used:  Dress - BG18 BG15 BG13 BG11 BG10 BG000 B14 B01 B00 B000; Wood Stand - E35 E34 E33 E31 E30; Leaves - B00 YG63; Flowers RV66 RV63 RV34 RV11 RV10; Background B01 B00 B000 BG0000 E31 E30.

I've also used my white gel pen to add highlights, dot the dress and faux stitching.  The image was die cut with Large Classic Oval and Large Classic Scalloped Oval Nestabilities.  Although it's a little hard to see much of the detail on this dp, it's from BoBunny Gabrielle Collection.  I adore these beautiful papers!

Here are the challenges I've entered:
Delicious Doodles - #28 Texture
Divas by Design - Florals
Wags 'n Whiskers - #55 Stitches
Make It Monday #39
A Spoon Full of Sugar - #154 Flower Power
Whoopsi Daisy - Lace and Ribbon
ABC - V is for Variety
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Favorite Stamp (this one... for the mo!)

I decided that this image needed the look of flowers, pearls and lace... um... LOVE it!!!  When are flowers, pearls and lace not appropriate... duh!  OK, well, obviously the guys won't appreciate it, but honestly, I don't do many guy cards.

I've used both 'real' and faux pearls on this card.  As you can see, I placed two strings of pearls along the edge of the ribbon lace.  All other pearls are from my fave Viva Decor Pearl PensTurquoise in two of the corners and Cream as accents around the beautiful roses.  These happen to be Wild Orchid roses, but Susana has similar roses Here.  The leaf punch is by MS...

Do you love this stamp as much as I do?

It's a New Day Hop and Candy!

Welcome back friends! Today is a very exciting day. Not only is it Friday (yay!!!) but I get to showcase a fabulous stamp by Elisabeth Bell - does it get any better than this? LOL

It's a New Day Release HOP begins at Suzanne's blog. If you've come here from Mary's blog, you are right on track! So here we go :)

Be sure to read all the way to the bottom cuz there is some important CANDY information you'll want to know about!

I'd like to introduce you to Letter to a Friend by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD from her Brand New Spring Sampler Set.

She's colored with my very favorite medium, copics! Blouse, ribbon and flowers - R29 R27 R24 R22; Jeans - B97 B95 B93 B91; Stump - E18 E17 E15 E13; Hat, shoes and paper - E53 E50; Grass - G28 G24 G21 G20. Gotta have some stickles bling, of course, and some Sharpie paint pen for a bit of highlighting!

I've distressed the edges of the paper pieced hearts and envelope as well as the doily and punched borders with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. The gorgeous blue pearls were created with Light Blue Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

Here's a close-up of one of the elements I paper-pieced and attached with dimensionals. I used 1/8" ribbon to create a tiny bow and edged the seams of the quilted heart with stardust stickles. The sentiment was already on the envelope... I just covered it with Diamond Glaze to create an 'epoxy sticker.' I AM being bold to show you this close up cuz real stickers aren't so wobbly looking LOL!

The flower is cut out twice and layered, then stickled around the edge and a cute lil button glued in the center. All that was glued onto my beautiful bow which I created with the Bow Easy - LOVE this tool!
I've used the fabulous sketch from CLP Sketch Challenge #33.
