A Stroller Card with Little Bo Peep!

Good morning my sweet friends.  Another week has quickly gone by, and I feel that I haven't accomplished everything that I'd like to.  Sometimes life can be quite overwhelming, but thank God they don't last forever!

Last Friday we celebrated our youngest son's birthday.  He requested homemade pizza, so I took out my recipe which uses my beloved Vitamix.  Oh this appliance does quick work of mixing the dough.  I've used it many times and each time, the pizza crust turns out great!  My oldest son is the pizza chef :D  He makes the best toppings!  So between the two of us and double chocolate cake, we had a mouth watering celebration :D

Although far from being a baby, my youngest son IS the baby.  I do have a soft spot for baby things.  Do I want one?  Heck no!  But you gotta admit, the sweet smell of baby powder and the super cute baby 'everything' makes one smile!!!  So when I first saw this oh-so-adorable image by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, I knew that I wanted to create a baby card.  As I strolled (hee hee) through my Silhouette files, I came across this sweet stroller - perfect!

I altered the single cut file into a card by mirroring it and placing perforations in the center to make it easier to fold.  I also cut out two more singles which I adhered one on top and one on the bottom of the card both for stability and also so I could emboss just the top layer.

Peek-a-boo!!!  The inside reveals Little Bo Peep by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD which I colored with copic markers (ShinHans HERE) and accented with Art Anthology Gelate in Splashed (Dimensional Gel Paint).  If you look at the wheels of the stroller, you'll see the clear sparkle and texture which I applied with a sponge dauber.

Papers are from Lost and Found Market Street by My Mind's Eye (lots of other fabulous paper HERE) which I used for the inside of the card.  I altered the cut file to cut only the top, then bottom portion of the stroller so I didn't have to cut out the entire image twice with the dp.

I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder, but you can find a similar embossing folder HERE or HERE.  The cute li'l sheep and butterfly is also a Silhouette file which I cut out with my Cameo and pieced together with my Quickie Glue Pen.  Everything else was adhered with my fave ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever!

Before I took the pieces off the cutting mat, I colored them using copic markers.  I've found that doing this not only saves paper, but also time because I can decide the colors as needed and match to whatever color scheme I'm using.

A pink rhinestone on each end of the stroller and one on the butterfly give this card a little extra bling, while the buttons tied with white Scrapper's floss add charm!

Be sure to check out the Store Blog for ongoing inspiration, information and fun!!!

By the way...this is going to be the next pad of paper I purchase - wait, maybe I shouldn't share it with you... please leave me some lol!

A Cutie for CLP Sketch Challenge!

I've finally got a card to share... woot woot!  I know, I've been slacking on that lately cuz I've been in 'school' learning about Photoshop Elements.  I love the idea of mixed media and have posted a few projects here and there in which I've dabbled in hybrid projects.  I've even used clay (I'm dying to use more!).  In the next few weeks though, I'll be showing new products and techniques - yay for new techniques!

But for today, I have a tried and true card to show you which I created for CLP Sketch Challenge #45.  Here's another one of Chelsea's amazing sketches (thank you, Sweetie!!!)

This is Give Peace a Chance by Sylvia Zet for SCACD.

Can you hear her saying, 'He loves me - He loves me not - He loves me....'?  I love her beautiful flowing hair!

I've entered her into the following Challenges:  Joanna Sheen - Spring is in the Air; Sir Stampalot - Take Inspiration (From Ruth's DT card using blue/green and flower!); The Crafter's Cafe - Ribbon and/or Lace; Creative Card Crew - Vintage; Simon Says - A bit 'o Green; Stampavie and More - Spring/Easter

Paper is from the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings 6x6 paper pad.  I thought the 'tye-dye' look was appropriate for this image lol!  She's colored with copics:  Pants - B97 B95 B93 B91 B37 C7 C5; Top - G28 G24 G21 G20; Flower - YR24 YR21 YR20 YR14 R14; Hair - E35 E34 YR21 YR20; Skin - E11 E00 E000; Flower Centers - E18 E17 E13 E11 E02; Flower Stem - YG67 YG63 YG61 YG11; Shoes - E47 E44 E43 E42 E41 E40 C9.

Products and supplies used Give Peace a Chance stamp; Sentiment is from the Ticketed stamp set by Stampology; Kaisercraft Paper Pad (out of stock on Sweet Nothings, but check out the fabulous selection Here); Tuxedo Black Memento Ink PadSepia VersaFine Ink Pad; Faded Jeans Distress Ink; Copics (check out Susana Loves Markers Here); Stardust Stickles; Transparent Gloss GelGlamour Dust; MS border punches; paper doily; tulle; flat back pearls; button; Tim Holtz scissors (used to cut the shank from button); dimensional foam and BEST GLUE EVER*

I discovered a tutorial on Pinterest that gave directions on how to use punches in various ways.  The 'lace' border at the top with the pearls in the center was made according to those directions *Here*  Why not get the most use from the tools we have?

*BEST GLUE EVER
OK... I am not an OMG girl, but My Goodness, this is the BEST (not kidding!) glue E V E R ! ! !  This is the first card I've created using ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever.  I must say that I was skeptical.  I mean really... isn't glue pretty much glue???  This glue totally blew me away!  From now on, I will use this for my adhesive instead of my ATG; Tombow or Glue Glider Pro.

The ONLY thing that I was not happy about was adhering the tulle which was knotted in the middle.  For that, as well as the button, I will continue to use Aleene's Super Thick Tacky Glue.

You only need a small amount of Best Glue Ever.  It does NOT wrinkle paper and holds extremely well.  A definite plus to using this glue over various tapes is that you can reposition your paper if you don't get it right the first time!  It dries permanent, but if you want repositional, you can apply to the surface and let dry before adhering to another surface.  I'm tellin' ya that they got the name right on this one!!!

You can find Best Glue Ever *Here*

Who would've thought I'd write a novel on glue???  Ah... the life of a crafter :)

I'm off to wash my hair and go to Bible Study...  I'll be back with the rest of my FREEBIES for ya.  Did ya miss the first FREEBIE?  You can find it Here!  Did you miss my Baby Steps Cartridge Giveaway?  You can find it Here!

Love you tons, my friends

Do You Love Shoes?

Hello sweet friends!  I'm so glad you're here : D  It's been a very rough week...  One thing I've learned though is that no matter what we go through, there is ALWAYS something we can smile about.  Maybe I'm not happy at the moment, but if I look hard enough, I will begin to see that I am truly blessed.

How 'bout you?  Are you making a conscious choice to treat yourself as you would treat others?  I know that sounds backwards, but aren't we usually harder and more critical on ourselves than we are on others?  How many times have we gone out of our way to help a friend?  Let's begin to be more kind to OURSELVES : D

I declare today to be...  'Be Nice to Yourself Day' ... and the next one.... and the next one... and the next... hee hee!

Do you love shoes?  Does the thought of going shopping for shoes bring excitement?  Be nice to yourself today!  Is shoe shopping not in the budget?  Window 'shoe' shopping is free... and then maybe lunch with a friend is in the budget : D  As for me... I pretty much wear the same shoes everyday.  I begin the day going to the gym, so more times than not, you'll find me in a pair of sneakers!  But I do love getting together with a dear friend every day for coffee/tea/friendship ♥

Today's image is 'If the Shoe Fits' by Victoria Case for SCACD from The Fairylicious Collection.  You can find her, as well as her fairy friends *Here.*

She is overjoyed that her new shoes fit... and who doesn't love a comfortable pair of shoes???  She's stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with the following copics: RV34 RV32 RV11 RV10 RV00; G24 G21 G40 BG000 BG0000; W7 W6 W5 W4 W3 W1 E50; E11 E00 E000; E49 E59 E25 E53.

To achieve the transparent, but sparkly appearance to her wings, I used Transparent Gloss Gel with Glamour Dust sprinkled on top.  Both sets of eyes, shoes and bottom of the shell also received a nice coat of gloss gel.  One thing I like about the gloss gel vs Diamond Glaze is the control-ability.  Both have great applicators, but the gloss gel is thicker and gives a more dimensional quality.  I suppose you could use multiple coats of Diamond glaze, but for smaller areas, I still prefer Transparent Gloss Gel - I really do!

Gorgeous dp is from the Kaisercraft Bonjour paper pad.  The top two layers have been distressed with Spun Sugar Distress Ink as well as the doily peeking out under the tulle I used as ribbon.  I LOVE tulle : D

Guess what I haven't used in a while?  My PINK (Rose) Paper Pen!  I discovered that I have two of these for some reason...  Do you love PINK???  Anybody want to WIN my 'other' Rose Viva Decor Paper Pen?

The first person letting me know by leaving a comment
on this post only, WINS!
Warning:  You may have to wrestle it out of my hands first lol!

Here's a better view of the shiny parts from the gloss gel : )

See that cute lil tag?  I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts) with Black Onyx VersaFine Ink Pad, distressed with Spun Sugar, a couple of paper pen pearls and tied on using Sew Easy Floss in 'Princess' Pink.  Can you believe that I actually used my Cricut (woot woot!!!) to cut out the tag?   My dusty old Cricut is seeing more use lately!  Have you entered my Cricut Cartridge Giveaway?  You can find the post *Here.*

Susana has a nice variety of Memory Box dies.  There is a Classic Tags set (currently out of stock *sad face*) one tag is similar to the size and style I used on this card.  You can find it *Here.*  Check out the other cool designs *Here.*

Because the base layer of dp is textured and slick, I've used Scor-Tape to adhere the middle layer to the bottom layer - AND because the tulle makes the bottom layer bulkier, as I've wrapped the ends behind the paper, I've also used Scor-Tape to adhere the layers to the card base.

New Product Alert!

Hot Cocoa Anyone?

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Did you have a good weekend?  Mine was a busy one.  The ravioli making was actually very fun.  I'd never made pasta before!  I have a 'pasta' machine for my clay, but I don't think it's the same lol!  Anyway, the Butternut Squash Ravioli turned out YUMMY : D

Now my hubby is sick : (  But the good news is that I don't have to cook lol!  As I write this, it's evening in California.  Just about time for me to fill up my Tinkerbell mug with Starbuck's Hot Cocoa.  Yes, it's true... I've become a hot cocoa snob!  When did that happen?  I used to enjoy Nestle's... *singing* N-E-S-T-L-E-S, Nestle's makes the very best... chocolate!  If you are young in years, you will not get my song, but those of us who are a bit older will remember : D

I decided that it was time for me to haul out my Cricut and cut out a tag for today's project.  I've used A Cuppa by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD.  Isn't she darling?  And look... she already has her Starbuck's Hot Cocoa!!!

I've used my usual... copic markers to color this cutie-pie.  She's accented with Stardust Stickles (my fave Stickles!).  I made the pearls with my Graphite Viva Decor Paper Pen.  I love blue and black together : )

Here's another view to show you how scrumptious the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz is that I sprayed over the entire piece!  I may have overdone it just a tad hee hee...
Here's the Recipe for this oh-so-cute-tag!

Flower and Jewelry:  Hobby Lobby
Stash:  Ribbon, Lace, Cardstock

Candy Time and a Treat Box!

***CANDY IS NOW CLOSED***

Howdy!  This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! (FYI:  CANDY might be hiding in my post today...)

After church today, hubby and I are going to the movies with friends to see Money Ball.  Have you seen it?  What did you think?  The last movie we saw with our friends was The King's Speech which hubby chose.  We all thought it was great!  Hubby chose this time too, so we have high expectations lol!  What movies have you seen lately that you really liked?

When I go to the movies I have to eat popcorn... I like to drink a Coke Icee and once in a while I'll also have candy!  Do you find yourself ordering routine 'comfort foods' when you go to the movies?

Warning:  Today's project includes the CANDY!!!  If you are like me with a sweet tooth, you may want to arm yourself at this point...  On the other hand, if it's not CHOCOLATE, I can usually pass it up lol.

I decided that I needed to color up this sweet image by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, Pumpkin Patch Peeker.  Can you hear her saying, 'Peek-a-Boo!'?

As usual, I've colored her with copics:  YR16 YR14 YR12; G28 G24 G21 G40; E35 E34 YR21 YR20; E11 E00 R20; E55 E53 E51 E50.  The pumpkin was just screamin' for some Glamour Dust Paint - Ice Crystal, of course!  I think I used 3 coats...

I wanted to do something different with this image, so while I was browsing patterns, I found this cute li'l pumpkin box which fit perfectly!

The inside of the box will hold a very generous handful (and I have big hands!) of Tootsie Roll candies.

The image was die cut and embossed with my oval and scalloped oval nesties.  The GORGEOUS swirls (which I will use A LOT!) were made with Elegant Scrollwork die by Memory Box.  A few rhinestones carefully placed enhances the elegant swirls and finishes off my yummy project!
