It's ALL About the Shoes!

LOL... Guess what's on my feet right now? I'm giggling because of the title of my post :) Anyone who really knows me, knows that my favorite footwear is actually NO footwear. Yup...barefoot but not pregnant!!! That really would be a miracle lol.

I had SO MUCH FUN with this High Heel Shoe Shaped Card Template - cutting file by The Cutting Cafe! I really, really like how it turned out :)

There are a number of optional pieces that come with this set. I've used the strap and bow pieces here...

The sentiment (one of many included in this file) was printed on white cardstock and cut using a Silhouette shape (as were the hearts). In case it's too small to read, the sentiments says, Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world - Marilyn Monroe.

Even though I only used two papers, I think this turned out quite elegant! The pink polka dot paper is from a digital download by Pink Petticoat; cream cardstock is from Papertrey Ink.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe - Bingo (die cuts, sparkle, stitching)
ABC - Stitching (faux)
Whoopsi Daisy - Stitching (faux)
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Charisma - Stitching (faux)
Allsorts - Stitching
Cute Card Thursday - Die-ing to Punch
Southern Girls - Things beginning with F (Footwear!)

...and now let's welcome and congratulate my new teamies on The Cutting Cafe DT:

Father's Day Classic Car and Free Cut Files!

Welcome back to my little corner of the world! Well, I am happy to report to you that my weight loss journey is going well :) It's been just over 2 months since I began my new lifestyle change... the way I eat and weight training exercises has been a very, very good thing!!! I would NEVER have thought that I could go one day without eating all those goodies - especially C H O C O L A T E ! However, with God's help, I've been able to fill my body with healthy, nourishing food instead of all those empty calories. I know I've got a long way to go to get to my healthy weight, but I am very encouraged with the 13 pounds I've lost so far - yay!!!

Not even celebrating Father's Day is going to make me gorge myself with sugary treats. I might have a bite of something yummy, but I know myself... and it's not pretty when I start - it's really like an alcoholic - ugh!

Father's Day... I'm thankful for my husband. Really. I say that because it wasn't always the case! I'm also sure that he feels the same way - he hasn't always been thankful for me lol! But this year, I truly am thankful for him ♥ I love you, Honey!!!

Here's my Classic Car Shaped Card I used from The Cutting Cafe...

I'd like to enter the following Challenges:
Simon Says - Masculine/Father's Day
Crafty Sentiments - For a Male
Papertake Weekly - Hello Boys
ABC Challenge - Open
Paper Playtime - Anything Goes
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
The Kraft Journal - Just for Him
Craft Your Passion - Father's Day/Masculine

Ya know... for a guy card, I think it's pretty cool! What do you think? I know that hubby will like it :) He's a car guy all the way lol!

There are various pieces that come with this file. You can use some or all of them! The sentiment is included (as well as other sentiments!). Regina always includes lots of variety to choose from.

I did make a change to the original cut file. I created the windows on the card base which were already on the top layers. I also cut out transparency material to mimic glass :) The wood grain patterns are included in the Silhouette software. I created print and cuts for the pieces.

Have you taken a peek at The Cutting Cafe lately? You won't be disappointed! The files are soooo reasonable AND adorable!!! Regina is always coming up with FUN files : )

Are you ready for your FREE CUT FILES? I decided that since I'm showing you the car I made for hubby, I'd offer some Car Cut Files. Please be assured that these are NOT The Cutting Cafe files. I would never share those - that's just wrong lol!

If you've been visiting lately, you know that I created some adorable Onesies using a Scrap Girls Digital Scrapbooking Kit and Silhouette Heat Transfer Material. I created those cut files from Boy Joy Kit HERE.

Thanks for visiting my sweet friends

For the Love of Music AND Some Exciting News!!!

Hi lovely friends ♥  It's been a little while since my last post!  Lots going on here as usual... Last Saturday we enjoyed a day retreat with the girls :)  I love my guys, but there's nothing like spending some quality girl time!!!

This Saturday we are holding a Women of Faith simulcast at church.  It's been quite a few years since I've attended one of these events.  I am soooo excited to see what God might do throughout this day!!!  My sweet hubby is gonna be our Chef - he cooks up a mean bbq chicken :)

Please think about us as we gather together for the entire day... Worship will be with Matthew West ♥.

So... speaking about music... what kind of music do you like?  I'm actually not sure that I have a particular style I prefer, but I do love all kinds of Christian music.  There's nothing like lifting up praises to our LORD ♥.

My post today is two-fold:  Music Maestro is the theme of this week's challenge at The Paper Shelter, and I have very exciting news to share with you about the cutting file I used on today's card.  So let's get started!!!

This is the sweet image I used for my card. She's called Cecilia. I couldn't resist adding Stickles on her eyelids :)  I cut her out using my Silhouette!!!

Isn't this a great MUSIC shaped card?  When I saw it at The Cutting Cafe, I knew it was perfect for this challenge!  It comes with the notes as well :)  I just adore Regina's cutting files.  More about that later...

I'd like to enter the following Challenges:
Stamp and Create - Use at least one die cut
Simon Says - Anything Goes
The Sisterhood - Free for All
Paper Crafting Journey - Use a Sentiment
Bearly-Mine - Anything Goes
Stampin' for the Weekend - Die cuts and/or punches
Die Cuttin' Divas - Anything Goes

The beautiful patterned paper is from Scrap Girls.  I LOVE my SG digi papers and embellishments! There is so much FUN to choose from in the Boutique :)  I'll have a fun project coming up with Silhouette and Scrap Girls soon... Be on the lookout for that cuz there will be some special promotions happening!!!

Please join us for our Music Maestro theme at The Paper Shelter Challenge this week.  Here's what's up for grabs:

Anyone who plays along using a TPS image will be eligible to win a $30 Gift Voucher - yay!!! If you use another image, you can win 3 images of your choice!

And now... my exciting news (which you may have guessed) is that I am now a designer for The Cutting Cafe - yippeee!!!  This card will be on The Cutting Cafe's Blog next week.  I kinda cheated by doing a two-for-one with the timing of my project... but it was just too perfect to wait LOL!

Here's my supply list:
Cupcake Doodle Twine - Doodle Bug
White Gelly Roll Pen - Sakura
Tag Punch - Martha Stewart
Papertrey Ink Sentiment

You're a Super Star!

Happy Monday everyone!!!  I hope you all have a fabulous week!  I'm posting a quickie now for Karen's Doodles, but I'll be back again soon...

This image is called What a Catch.  As you can see, I've created a shaped card.  I decided to use the baseball glove in the image, so I cropped it and then made it bigger to fit the 'baseball' which I cut out by hand because my largest nestie wasn't big enough.  I cut out the glove by hand also to create the card base.  Yes, I did it all backwards!  If I knew what I was going to do from the beginning, I would have made my image fit the circle lol!!!

I've 'distressed' the edges of the baseball to give it a little bit of worn look and also to hide the imperfections of my hand cutting!  I used a Stampin' Up! marker to make the stitch lines.  I used my x-acto knife to make a slit in the glove so the baseball could slide in.  Embroidery floss for the stitching along the side and the webbing and then crossed it over on the front with the sentiment attached.  Simple : )

Karen's Doodles US Challenge is up and running for your viewing pleasure!  Why not give it a try this week.  I had a lot of fun coming up with this card for the challenge which is Dad/Masculine.  No pearls, no flowers, no lace... but I like it!!!  Show us your stuff : )

Challenges Entered:
The Crafty Pad - male card
Charisma - circles
Cute Card Thursday - no designer paper
Pixie Dust - round
S2G - masculine
Crafty Catz - the boyz are back
Dare U 2 Digi - One for the boys

It's getting close to the countdown for my CANDY.  You still have ten days to enter Here.   A gently used Magnolia Stamp has been added to the stash...

See you soon, my friends!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

An Egg-stra Special Easter!

Yay!  It's Friday!!!  That's good news and bad news...  What!?!  Because it's Friday, that means my DH doesn't have a job to go to anymore : (   But it's good news because it's the first day of our new life : )  I do not know what the future holds, but I do know Who holds the future!  I must put my trust in Jesus Christ.  "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."  Psalm 27:14

Today I have another quick and easy project for ya.  I've used Kate's Chicken Girl Design Egg-stra Special Bunny.  Kate carries a variety of items in her store, i {heart} papers, including rubber and digi stamps.  Why not check it out... and tell her that Lori sent ya : )

I dowloaded the egg shape from DZ Doodles Here.  Do you think I could have used an oval shape?  No... I had to use the proper egg shape!  I covered it with dp, inside and out.  This next part is for Stephanne... I chose to put the sentiment on the inside of the card - lol!  I think it works...  Nesties ovals, cut out and popped up the bunny's basket and egg, added ribbon and flowers - good to go!  All set for Easter!  I have the perfect person in mind to give this to...but now I need to make another one so that 'somone else' won't feel left out.  No, I can't say who it is because that person might be reading this!

Next up... Paper Romance is coming to town.  It'll be a cutie!!!

I'm still gathering up a few things for my candy I promised.  It won't be a BIG candy cuz my DH would have a fit if I spent our grocery money on candy - lol!  It will be some of my favorite things though...  I hope you'll like it.

Thanks for visiting and come back soon!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Princess Pony

Good Morning!  Are you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed?  Hee hee... for me, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed is around 11:00 a.m.  Well, someone has to be up at night to take care of things - lol!

My little furbaby, Sammy, is well on his way to being his old bossy self!  It was a looooong couple of weeks, but he's as good as new.  Whew!  I think it was worse than having a sick baby cuz he doesn't wear diapers...ewwwww...  I hope you've already had your breakfast - hee hee!

Are you ready for another challenge at Karen's Doodles?  This week we have an inspiration photo to work with, and all four challenge blogs are joining in.

I love the colors in this photo, so I used pink and green.  My card is kinda 'ruffly' which I took from the bed skirt and pillow shams.  I just love cute and girlie!  Without further ado,  meet Princess Pony Here.

I've colored Princess Pony, of course, with my fav copics:
E21 E11 E00 E000; E31 E25 Y21; R85 R83 R81; G28 G24 G21 G20; E34 E33 E31 E30; C7 C5 C3 C1 C0.
Stardust Stickles accents, gorgeous cameo and mini roses by Prima, MS punch, pearls and ribbon.  Ta Da!  I used my Cricut to cut out the card shape (Wild Card Cartridge) and dp; nesties for the circle and scallop.  If you are reading this and recognize the shape of the card as one that you recently did, I give you credit!  I loved your card so much, I decided to make one of my own!  I'm sorry that I didn't write down your name and blog... I will make a conscious effort to do that in the future.

This was a lot of fun to color!

So how do you think I did with my first inspiration photo?  I hope you like the results.

Exciting News:  Karen's Doodles Challenge Blogs (yes, plural - all four) are having an Easter Blog Hop!  Watch for it this week - Thursday, April 1.  Fun and prizes!!!

Thank you for coming to visit me.  I truly appreciate your friendship and support!!!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~
