Glory to God in the Highest

Hello there!  So glad that you've found your way to see me today!!!  I want to make sure that you know how much I appreciate you!  My life is so much richer because you are in it : )  Sometimes it's good to reflect on our lives and as they say, 'Stop and smell the roses.'  So many times I can be on automatic pilot and not even realize what I'm doing!

This is my last DT card for Karen's Doodles (sniff sniff...)  It has been so much fun!  I really enjoy Karen's fabulous artwork : )  Thank you so much Karen and Sandy for allowing me the privilege of designing for you!

All white... well, almost.  Just a touch of silver lining and Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  Do you want to join in the challenge this week at Karen's Doodles?  The image can be multi-colored, but everything else should be white.  I thought this image was perfect for this challenge.
It's called Cross with DoveThe dove is 'colored' with Viva Decor Pearl Pen and the cross with Viva Decor Glitter Liner.  The pearls are Pearl Pen in Ice White.

I used Labels 4 Nesties to cut out the image and used pop dots to raise it above the first die cut.  The top and bottom borders are Cuttlebug die cuts (not sure the name).

Look at that  S P A R K L E ! ! !

The Viva Decor Glitter Liner has THE most sparkle and the best part for digi users... it doesn't make the printer ink bleed - yay!!!

Challenge Entered:
Stampin' Sisters In Christ - Candle, Let Your Light Shine!

I hope you enjoyed my project : )

Red White and Blue

Hello my friends!  I just learned that one of my friends is leaving for a week long camping trip.  She goes every year with her mom, kids and best friend and her kids.  They've been doing this for the last 10 years.  Doesn't that sound like a ton of fun?  She said that they have special wine and food that they ONLY have when they go camping.  Such a wonderful tradition.  I know that there will be many hours of fun and laughter.  I need fun.  I need laughter.  I wanted to hide out in her camping gear, but she wouldn't go for it...  That's OK.  I make my own fun LOL!

This is the day the LORD has made
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

There.  All better : )

In six days, it will be the 4th of July.  I am signed up to work at the fireworks booth as a fundraiser for my church.  I'll be working a couple of hours this afternoon and then again on Thursday.  I hope we sell A LOT!  Do you celebrate on July 4 with a B-B-Q and fireworks?  Last year, we went to a friend's house for B-B-Q.  Hmmmm.... I don't know what we'll be doing this year.

Today I have a patriotic color theme going on for my Karen's Doodles US Challenge card.  I do not often use red on my cards, but I really like the red and blue together and white to 'tone it down' a bit!  This is Bigsby Juggling.  You can find Karen's digital image Here.

I've colored this lil' guy up with copics.  B06 B05 B02 B01 B00; C9 C7 C5 C3 C2 C1; R29, R27, R24 R22 R20.  Of course, I needed to add some bling!  I covered the balls and the die cut scallops with a nice coat of Glamour Dust.  I LOVE the transparency of this product!  The circles and scallop circle was cut out with my nesties.  The corner 'swirls' are from my EK Success Punch.  I cut off one of the swirls on the end that had two.  I think I like them better this way : )  Rhinestones are added on each end for more bling and dimension.

I used pop dots to layer the die cuts.  Take a look at the white decorative piece under the ribbon as well as at the top and bottom of the image.  Believe it or not, I actually followed through on Becca's tutorial and made a 'postage stamp' size of her Right Angle Punching Technique!  I made four of them (one is under the bow) and edged them with Ballet Blue SU ink.  I love this color blue which works very well with the digi paper from Bearly Mine.

Cool ribbon, huh?  I used my wonderful Bow Easy for the bow... LOVE this tool so much!  I don't know what I ever did without it!!

PRIZES!  PRIZES!  PRIZES!  Here's what you could win if you enter in Karen's Doodles US Challenge (Red White & Blue):

Tea with Grandma

It's another week... Happy Monday!  I'm not sure about the rest of the week, but the weather here in California today is HOT.  I know I've said it before, but I much prefer a nice comfortable Spring.  If I could have that kind of weather all year, I would love it!  Isn't that so 'us'?  We don't like to be uncomfortable or inconvenienced.  Oh well, it is during times of trial that we grow the most! (sigh)...

Today I get to have 'breakfast' at IHOP with my sister - yay!!!  I love IHOP.  I wanted pancakes the other night for dinner, but my DH never wants 'em.  He is a meat and potatoes kind of guy - actually more like meat and rice.  His favorite meal would be fried chicken with rice and gravy.  Just what I need to lose weight lol!  Well, except for the ice cream I had before dinner, I only had salad tonight.  Does it count if you have ice cream before you eat a meal?  hee hee! I was so HOT though - grrrrr!  It makes me so cranky.

I have a fun project to show you today.  I really like it!  I took my fave color at the mo, and paired it with an adorable image to create a bookmark.  Then, I decided that I needed a teacup card.  I just love teapots and teacups!  I could have drawn my own, but why?  Karen's Doodles already had one in the image Tea with Grandma.  I cropped it to frame the teacup, then enlarged it to create a card.  I love the pink polka dot paper.  It says, "FUN!"

The rose is a two-step die from QuicKutz.

...and the bookmark

I don't know why Grandma's face looks this way!
It couldn't be the photographer could it? lol!

Image is colored of course with copics...  Bears:  E35 E34 E31 E30; Cookies and wood:  E18 E17 E15 E13; Pinks:  RV 32 RV11 RV10 RV000; Greens:  G28 G24 G21 G20.  The rose and leaves on the teacup are enhanced with copics also.  Copic bundles are available Here.  Other than my paper trimmer, a pair of scissors and the QuicKutz dies, I didn't use any other tools!
Have you joined in the Karen's Doodles US Challenge yet?  This week's theme is Summer.  Here are the fab prizes up for grabs:

I hope that you enjoyed my project!

See you tomorrow, my lovely friends : )

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

BBQ King!

I'm back!  Besides the fact that I'm 'melting' from the heat here in California, I'm having a blast!  It's almost time for the big reveal - hee hee!  I am so excited... you will be happy too cause it just might involve YOU!

Enough of the teaser... As you read this, I am either getting ready for, driving to, or at Yosemite - one of my most fave places to visit!  I hear that there are waterfalls in places that didn't have them before.  Since my boys were little tykes, we'd go camping or stay in the tent cabins at Yosemite.  They are now 23 and 22 years old!  My DH and I are just going for the day.  How spoiled is that?  We are only a few hours (at the most) away.  The kicker though is that we are leaving at 6 AM... zzzzzzzzz!  I hope that I don't sleep through my visit there lol!  I have been known to sleep through the 17 mile drive in Carmel.  Can you believe that?  I was just young and naive then.  Now I KNOW better lol!  If you are not familiar with Carmel or the drive, it is just beautiful.  Carmel is along the coast of California where the sand and sea draw you into it's fabulous-ness!!!

So, back to Yosemite and camping (hee hee, I took a little side trail there).  My DH is a very good cook.  He is the B-B-Q King!  The image I used on the following card is perfect for him.  This is Thrill of the Grill by Karen Doodles.  Don't ya just love it?  I love the dog ♥  So adorable!!!

This week's challenge is "Embossing."  So, where's the embossing, you ask?

I'm hoping that you can see two places where I've 'dry embossed.'  The image was cut out with Labels 8 nesties and embossed.  The buttons were punched out and embossed with my MS punch.  It's a little hard to see the embossed part on the buttons because I gave them a thick coat of Diamond Glaze to make them shiny!  I also gave the bbq a coat of Diamond Glaze.  This card was really a struggle for me!  The card size, the fact that my DH doesn't enjoy flowers, lace, pearls... you know, my fave embellies!  Even though this is a very simple card, it took me waaaaaaaaaaaay too long to finish - grrrr!  I kept trying different things, but nothing was turning out right.  So, I just stopped lol!  Ready or not, here I come *shouting*.  Do you remember playing Hide and Seek?  After you've counted to let's say 20, you shout out, 'ready or not, here I come!'  Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional HA HA HA!
If you enter Karen's Doodles US Challenge with your embossed creation this week, here's what's up for grabs:
Cool, huh?  Karen has NEW images  available at her NEW website!  Head on over and check it out, it's even easier to find what you're looking for - yay!!!  Thanks, Karen ♥

Challenges Entered:

I have one more (sigh of relief) masculine card to make this week.  I'm not complaining (much lol!) but I definitely am going through withdrawals.  You know what I'm talking about... the pretty things!!!

Only 3 more days to enter my CANDY (open until 8 PM PST on June 10).

Thanks for stopping by and putting up with all my silliness : )  I love you, my friends!

You're a Super Star!

Happy Monday everyone!!!  I hope you all have a fabulous week!  I'm posting a quickie now for Karen's Doodles, but I'll be back again soon...

This image is called What a Catch.  As you can see, I've created a shaped card.  I decided to use the baseball glove in the image, so I cropped it and then made it bigger to fit the 'baseball' which I cut out by hand because my largest nestie wasn't big enough.  I cut out the glove by hand also to create the card base.  Yes, I did it all backwards!  If I knew what I was going to do from the beginning, I would have made my image fit the circle lol!!!

I've 'distressed' the edges of the baseball to give it a little bit of worn look and also to hide the imperfections of my hand cutting!  I used a Stampin' Up! marker to make the stitch lines.  I used my x-acto knife to make a slit in the glove so the baseball could slide in.  Embroidery floss for the stitching along the side and the webbing and then crossed it over on the front with the sentiment attached.  Simple : )

Karen's Doodles US Challenge is up and running for your viewing pleasure!  Why not give it a try this week.  I had a lot of fun coming up with this card for the challenge which is Dad/Masculine.  No pearls, no flowers, no lace... but I like it!!!  Show us your stuff : )

Challenges Entered:
The Crafty Pad - male card
Charisma - circles
Cute Card Thursday - no designer paper
Pixie Dust - round
S2G - masculine
Crafty Catz - the boyz are back
Dare U 2 Digi - One for the boys

It's getting close to the countdown for my CANDY.  You still have ten days to enter Here.   A gently used Magnolia Stamp has been added to the stash...

Yeee-Hawww for Karen's Doodles!

It's Monday again (already!).  It seems like I just posted for a Monday and here we are again!!!  Sometimes it feels like '50 First Dates' or the movie where the guy lives Christmas over and over and over...lol!  Thankfully, there is enough variety in our days so we don't all go bonkers!

Do you have some months where it seems like EVERYONE is having a birthday?  My goodness... they all just kinda crept up on me!  To make matters worse (only worse on my freak out scale...) my sister and her family will be visiting this weekend.  Normally, that would be a wonderful thing (and still IS) but I just realized as I was making this card for my nephew's birthday that I would also need a gift - duh!!!  Now don't be too hard on me just yet.  His birthday actually isn't until June 9, so I was doing really good getting his card done this early : )  BUT, my sister's birthday is this Friday and I haven't made her a card or gotten a gift - BUT (hee hee!) I did make my friend Vickie a card and will give it to her on Friday - BUT I didn't get a card done for Deborah... Oh my!  How do you keep everything straight and get it all done too? lol!!

I've been thoroughly enjoying making girly cards, so I really wasn't looking forward to making this one, but for a card without lace and pearls and flowers, I think it turned out nice.  This one's for Karen's Doodles US Challenge.  This week we'd like to see stitching on your cards.  You might even win FREE images from Karen's Doodles!  Today I've used Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy which you can find Here.

I used this fab sketch from Sketch Saturday.

He's cut out with both his head and hat glued on a second layer.

Butterfly Puppy

Another Mondaaaaay is here and we're off!!!  This will be a very busy week for me.  I have lots of DT work to catch up on and things to get done for ministry.  But first, I will go to the movies with my DH!  It has been soooooo long since we've had a 'date.'  We are waaaaay past due.  We're going to see Robin Hood.  Maybe not my fav 'chick flick,' but I am very much looking forward to seeing it.  Ya gotta have popcorn and candy and maybe even a soda - no, I think Icee.  Yes, definitely an Icee!  Classic movie munchies : )  Ooooo, I can't wait!!!

I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who prayed for me on Saturday.  It was amazing!!!  God did what only He could do.  I've been praying that He would use me to speak to the people, and He showed up Big Time!  I received confirmation that night from several people about how God spoke to them.  Oh blessed be the Name of the LORD!  I am so humbled that the Creator of the Universe knows me and allowed me to be used for His Glory...simply amazing...  Do you know that He knows YOU too?  Even if you don't believe in Him, He knows about that and loves you anyway!

One thing that having cancer did for me, was break my prideful heart.  I realize that I can never be good enough. God loves us 'just because' - not only when we are good, or lovable, but He continues to love us even when we are 'bad.'  He doesn't use us because we are...as my friend would say, 'all that and a bag of chips!'  He chooses to use us even though we are imperfect.  That, my friend, is unconditional love!!!  Won't you receive it today?

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear."  Mark 4:23

...and now for my card.  I am so happy to think that God has given us the ability to create and He delights in blessing us and watching us 'bloom!

I got to use this fab sketch for Karen's Doodles US Challenge this week.  I really, really like it!

For a Special Girl

Can you believe another week has gone by?  It's Monday and I'm off to go workout.  Grunt!  My poor body just doesn't want to do what it used to...  I used to make fun of my DH when he would get up and make that sound (if you are over 40, you probably know what I'm talking about!).  Well, to my horror, I found myself making that same noise last week.  Eeeeeek! Ha ha!!

My dinner at Olive Garden on Saturday was delish!  I saved some calories by having a 'low cal' dish, Apricot Chicken.  It really was very tasty.  You know that I was going for the full calorie version of Black Tie Mousse Cake though.  I almost didn't share it... I gave my DH a bite - hee hee!  It was soooo yummy!!!  I felt loved and appreciated as we celebrated an early Mother's Day, so all is well : )

Have you visited Karen's Doodles US Challenge Blog lately?  Karen has some waaaay cuuuuute images!  This week's challenge is:  Birthday/Celebrate.  You can win 1, 2 or 3 digi images of your choice!  Go ahead and enter : )  Today I'm using "I Love You THIS Much, Girl."

Karen's Doodles - Anything But a Card

Happy Monday!  Whether or not we're ready... here it comes!  Maybe it's because I just attended a Baby Shower, but I'm reminded of having a baby.  Ready or not, here it comes!!!  Yikes!  That's been 22 and a half years ago for me.  Now I have a little furbaby, and just like the stork, he arrived at my home : )

Do you struggle with 'other than a card' challenges?  I love the beautiful projects I see on other blogs, but when it comes to deciding what to do for myself... I'm like a kid in a candy shop - I want it all lol!  I finally decided on this cute lil purse.  I love purses and I will usually revert back to this if not directed somewhere else.

This image is called Butterfly and Bee which is a 700 follower FREEBIE from Karen's Doodles on Paper Craft Planet.  Grab it while you can!!!  This is one image, but I've cut out the butterfly and glued it on the flap.

The purse template is from D.A.I.S.E. Company.  I don't think I followed the directions because it wasn't coming out right... duh!!!  I'll have to go back and actually read the directions.  It seemed simple enough.  Anyway, this is my version lol!  The DP is from DCWV, "Dancing Polka Dot"

Copics:  B02 B01 B00 B000 B0000; G28 G24 G21 G20; Y15 Y11 E13 E17; C9 C7 C5 R20
Wow, that's a lot of copics for such a little image hee hee!

I've generously coated a lot of this image with Glamour Dust which I see that Susana's Custom Art and Card Design now carries!  Oh Susana, where were you when I was searching high and low? lol!

Lace is from Stamp and Create.  I love this lace!!!  Half pearls and black velvet ribbon are from Michael's.  Oh... the pearl pin is from Wild Orchid Crafts!

So now that you've seen my project, you'll want to get all the deets at
Karen's Doodles US Challenge
and create your own "Anything But a Card."
Here are the awesome prizes you could win:
While you're at the Challenge Blog, you'll see some amazing eye candy from the DT - loads of inspiration!

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Your comments really do make my day : )  I'll try and visit more of you very soon!  Mwah!!!

Welcome Baby

One more day... then it's another Monday!!!  For some of you, it's already Monday : )  So you get a head start on me!  Do you like Mondays?  I don't mind them so much anymore.

Today after church, we are having a baby shower!  Thanks to my friend, I have my shopping done...  Then it hit me.  I need a card!  Hmmm... ya think I could make one? LOL!  That's the beauty of it!  I'll never need to go shopping for one!  In case you had the tiniest thought that it might be my baby shower, you just get that right out of your head!  It is now impossible - whew!  That really would be a miracle - lol!  I don't have any 'parts' left - ha ha ha ha...

I think this is the first card I've made that wasn't for one of my dts.  It feels a little funny.  I think I'd like to get used to it though : )

I've used I Love You THIS Much - Boy by Karen's Doodles.  I know that the mommy this card is going to is having a boy, so it made it a lot easier to design.  Although I miss having bows and flowers, lace and sparkles... : (   I think overall, it turned out ok.

Here's a close up so you can see that I cut around the image where it extends beyond the oval.
Cute rattle charm... hee hee

I pulled the arms out for more dimension.

Tomorrow I'll have another Karen's Doodles project for ya.  This time, it can't be a card.  What to do... guess you're in for a surprise : )

See you tomorrow my friends!

Happy Mother's Day

It's been another 'whew!' weekend...  It began on Friday with a very full day into the evening, then up again early on Saturday.  Master's Harvest & theWay Christian Fellowship was one of almost 500 churches hosting the Beth Moore simulcast, "So Long, Insecurity."  There were 300,000 women who gathered in various churches to view this simulcast.  How amazing!  I was blessed  : )  I thought when I got home that it would be hard to 'come down' from all the excitement, but almost as soon as I sat down, I began falling asleep.  I tried to stay awake for the next 7 hours (it was soooo hard!) - I probably was doing the head bobbing thing for awhile - hee hee!  Today has been better, but I'm definitely ready to hit the sack!  So why is it that it takes so much energy to have fun?  Huh, huh?  I'd really like to know that.

I am pretty much running on cookies tonight - lol!  My DH made some yummy chicken and rice for dinner.  That was a couple of hours ago.  I think my energy is simply powered by cookies - really!

On Friday, I helped my mom plant some flowers.  They look so good!  She chose some really pretty ones too.  I would love to have flowers in my yard.  The thing is that if I don't plant them and maintain them, it doesn't get done.  AND we've had a pesky gopher that kept eating everything I planted.  That made me so mad!  I decided that until I know that the gopher has gone to bother someone else, I wasn't going to waste money buying flowers.  Grrrrr!!!  Anyway, with the thought of the outdoors, birds and birdhouses, I made a Mother's Day card for my mom.  I hope she doesn't check my blog - lol!  I think she'll really like the colors and image.  Of course, she'd like anything I made...

Would you like to know the latest dumb thing I did?  For some reason, I thought that this sketch was the current challenge at Pixie Cottage.  I was so excited that I had followed their sketch and was getting ready to post for the challenge.  Where did it go?  I don't know WHICH week they had it, but it certainly is not the current challenge.  Duh...  I can't believe I did that.  But you know what?  I can still enter this card in Pixie Cottage's current challenge which is for Mother's Day or a Special Lady! Ha ha!

It's time for another Karen's Doodles US Challenge!!!  This week we're looking for your projects for mom.  Be sure to check out the amazing talent the DT has to show you on the challenge blog also.  Here are the wonderful prizes you could win:
Wow... I wish I could play - lol!  So color up your favorite Karen's Doodles image and make a card for your mom or someone special for Mother's Day!  For those of you who have lost your mom...  I want to say, "I am so sorry for your loss."  May our Lord comfort you and surround you with His Love! xxx

I hope that you've had a terrific weekend, my friends.  I'll be back to continue the saga tomorrow!

Perfect for a Lil' Fairy

Mark it on your calenders!!!  It's true... I cooked today - ha ha ha ha ha.  No, really - it's funny!  I actually made chicken enchiladas.  Wow - yay me!  AND I completed my DT card for Karen's Doodles.  But, sadly... there is a but... I have to be up and ready to leave the house in the morning by 6:00 {gasp!}.  That's practically the middle of the night for me - lol!  Ok... this is a good challenge for me.  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me  Phil. 4:13.  (You know that I need a lot of strength, Lord!)  I'll let you know how it goes.  My DH, SIL and I are going to Georgetown which is about an hour and a half drive.  We'll have breakfast when we get there.  See?  Things are looking up already : )

I had soooooo much fun making this card.  A friend had asked me to make a card for her SIL baby shower.  I know, I know... this isn't technically a "baby" card, but it's the theme of the nursery, so it's perfect!  I can still "slap on" a baby sentiment before I give it to her.  I needed to get this in on time, so you are seeing the almost done version.  I still love the way it came out!

Today is another Karen's Doodles US Challenge.  We have a recipe challenge for ya this week:  2 dp, 1 ribbon, 3 brads/gems and a border.  Fun!!!  Please check out the rules on the blog and enter your creation.  Remember, there will be three prizes given away:
I've used Fairy Princess on my card today.  She is soooo adorable!  Gotta love that bling!!!

My Ooooops Card!

Happy Monday!  I hope your Easter weekend was fabulous!  After church, we spent the day and evening at my mom's house.  Yummy food... and of course I had to eat it all!  It always goes down so good, but then later, it's not so good anymore, just overfull.  Why do I always do that?  I should know better by now.  I'm sure I'll do again during the next holiday meal - lol!  My mom always sends us home with leftovers.  Even though I am still full, the lemon meringue pie is screaming at me.  But this time, I'm winning... until tomorrow - hee hee!
Here's another 'awwwww' image from Karen's Doodles.
You can purchase Elliot and Baby Sister from Karen's Doodles Here.

The challenge this week at Karen's Doodles (US) is Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.  Well, I sttttttrrrrreeeeetttttccccchhhhheeeeedddd it on this one!  Honestly, I totally forgot about it.  I just plain blew it!  So here's what I came up with after I made the card:  Something Old(er):  Elliot; Something New: Baby Sister; Something Borrowed: the rocking chair; Something Blue:  purple-blue????  I know... I know...

I'm sure yours will be marvelous!  Oh, and you should see the DTs cards that followed directions (hee hee) - but really... they are fabulous!  Go check em out on the US Challenge Blog Here.

Here is my project for ya today using Love at First Sight.

Isn't she just the cutest thing ever?  I love her to pieces!
This image is so versatile.  Can you see using her for a birthday card, a baby card, an Easter card, an 'I love you' card, a card for a little ballerina or dancer?  I'm sure you could think of other occasions.

Don't forget to leave a comment before you go.  I'll be choosing someone to win their own 'Love at First Sight' digi image!  Now head on over to see what Shana has cooked up for ya!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~

Princess Pony

Good Morning!  Are you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed?  Hee hee... for me, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed is around 11:00 a.m.  Well, someone has to be up at night to take care of things - lol!

My little furbaby, Sammy, is well on his way to being his old bossy self!  It was a looooong couple of weeks, but he's as good as new.  Whew!  I think it was worse than having a sick baby cuz he doesn't wear diapers...ewwwww...  I hope you've already had your breakfast - hee hee!

Are you ready for another challenge at Karen's Doodles?  This week we have an inspiration photo to work with, and all four challenge blogs are joining in.

I love the colors in this photo, so I used pink and green.  My card is kinda 'ruffly' which I took from the bed skirt and pillow shams.  I just love cute and girlie!  Without further ado,  meet Princess Pony Here.

I've colored Princess Pony, of course, with my fav copics:
E21 E11 E00 E000; E31 E25 Y21; R85 R83 R81; G28 G24 G21 G20; E34 E33 E31 E30; C7 C5 C3 C1 C0.
Stardust Stickles accents, gorgeous cameo and mini roses by Prima, MS punch, pearls and ribbon.  Ta Da!  I used my Cricut to cut out the card shape (Wild Card Cartridge) and dp; nesties for the circle and scallop.  If you are reading this and recognize the shape of the card as one that you recently did, I give you credit!  I loved your card so much, I decided to make one of my own!  I'm sorry that I didn't write down your name and blog... I will make a conscious effort to do that in the future.

This was a lot of fun to color!

So how do you think I did with my first inspiration photo?  I hope you like the results.

Exciting News:  Karen's Doodles Challenge Blogs (yes, plural - all four) are having an Easter Blog Hop!  Watch for it this week - Thursday, April 1.  Fun and prizes!!!

Thank you for coming to visit me.  I truly appreciate your friendship and support!!!

May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~
