Kate's a Celebrity!

Since finding Kate's story from Lacey at Stamp and Create, I felt I needed to also let others know about this little girl's struggle for life.  You can find my original post here as well as the link on my sidebar which will take you to Kate's Story on CaringBridge.org.  I thought you might find today's journal entry especially interesting.  Here's an excerpt from Holly (Kate's mom):

I wanted to include a quick letter from our friend Karen Kingsbury. Karen, as you know, is the nation's top Christian fiction author, and she has offered to write Kate in as a character in her upcoming book. We found out that Kate will be in Karen's fall release, "Unlocked". She will play the younger cousin of the main character, Holden Harris. Holden is an autistic teenager whose mother prays for a miracle, that she might connect with her son once again. Kate's character will be integral in helping reach that place in Holden's heart. Her role is a tender and precious one- much the way Kate is in real life. More information about Karen and this fundraiser can be found at
www.prayforkate.com under "in fiction". Here is what Karen says about the conclusion of this special fundraiser for Kate:

Dear reader friends and friends of Kate McRae, We have reached the end of our fundraiser for Kate, but I wanted to give you one last chance to take part! Anyone who donates $100 or more to the Kate McRae fund in the next week, will have your name (or the name of someone you love) mentioned in the acknowledgements section of my upcoming book, "Unlocked." This very special book will feature Kate as a character. In this way, you have helped her family financially, and placed Kate Forever in Fiction (TM). All money donated will go to the McRae family. Thank you for your prayers and support for them. Let's keep praying for a miracle for Kate. In His light and love, Karen Kingsbury.
Kate, if you are able to see this, WE LOVE YOU!
May God bless you, keep you and comfort your soul ~
